So this is my first city journal ever, and I've decided to do a re-creation Switzerland.  I've made a 16x12 size region, and I'm starting in the northwest corner in the country with the French-speaking area.  I'm currently working on the town of Delémont.  I may upload the map of Switzerland I made to the STEX, but really can't figure it out.  It is made roughly to scale.  I'll post a regional photo once I vegetate the region.

Here is a photo of Switzerland from wikipedia.  As you can see, Delemont is located in the northwest:

And now on to the city of Delémont!

Current population: ~21,000

farms to the SW:

northwestern farms and village:

south of downtown:

French shopping district downtown:

historic downtown area with Tower of Delemont:

northern downtown:

east of downtown:

northeastern area with fire landing strip, garbage areas and jail:

southeastern farms and French estate:

And finally an overview of the whole city:

I'm tired, so I'm going to bed.  I hope you guys enjoy!

Looks great. I like Delemont! I like the farms and the trees. Your pictures should only be 800x600. 2.gif

    Thanks guys!

    @the Big Z: Thanks! How do I make my photos into 800x600?

    @suplado!: I appreciate it!

    @jacqulina: Again, thanks.

    @Mr.Beer: I don't speak French, but I gathered that you live near Lausanne. Merci beaucoup.

    @bbfan02: How would I make them into jpgs?

    @jrhnemo: I will work on that. Thanks.

    @Callbat: I have downloaded many of xannepans timber frames, but the ones I downloaded are non-functional landmarks. Do you know of any that are functional?

    Thanks guys, and I will probably have another update within a week.

    Nice stuff indeed. But, it would be helpful if you were to convert to jpg first before uploading.

    Welcome to the world of CJs.

    Looks fantastic. Remember to keep images within the size limits of 800x600. You can do that by either cropping the images, or by resizing in an image-editing program. And JPGs are recommended because IE users can't see them. Fantastic region though. I remember going to Interlaken a few years back and I loved it there. Switzerland is an awesome country.

    Wow, looks like a great cj.  Many people I know have been to Switzerland.  I have known that the Lugano area is especially beautiful.

    Thanks guys!

    @Mr.Beer: No I'm not from Switzerland, I'm from Charlotte, USA. But I have some ancestors from Switzerland. My girlfriend really enjoys looking up ancestry and was able to trace back my last name line to the tiny town of Berneck in northeastern Switzerland. It's near St. Gallen close to Germany/Austria. I will do a recreation of that town later on. I will also be sure to put in that highway.

    @BAT56: Wow, I had no idea so many of you guys were on here. I will put in the train station. I hope my recreation is at least somewhat accurate as it is.

    @despotism2: Yeah I'm trying to figure out why there is so much. I'm even zoning over some residential areas with commercial or industrial. I still get the no jobs thing. It's funny because many of the work places don't have full employment, yet people say they can't get jobs. It doesn't really make sense.

    Yeah I had the same problem. Those lazy sims won't commute to get a job. But since I use the buildingplop cheat, I doesn't make it anymore.
