I have heard good and bad things about scs. I am not sure if I wwill be buying it or not. Graphically it looks beautiful. Is there terraforming? I know Zones are gone as is regional play if I am not mistaken.

I have a lot of time invested in sc4 and a huge plugin folder and I am not ready to start modding another game. If that is even going to be an option. I think I will wait and see.

If I'm not mistaken there is no terraforming. I would say when it lowers in price to get it, its not worth the price it is now.

It generates maps and stupid names.

That's pretty dumb. So people can never make custom maps for SCS and download them off the STEX? Again SCS fails to perform satisfactory.

You can make custom maps, there is just no in-game terraforming tool. All the work needs to be done outside of the game, on a greyscale image -- you load it up and the game makes a map based on your image. So although it requires more effort, custom maps are possible to make. People have already created maps based off of New York, Seattle, and other locales.

I remember browsing through the random names and coming accross what I thought said 'Simtropolis'... it was an exciting few seconds before I come across the name again to find that it was just 'Simopolis'... or something to that effect... I would go check but I uninstalled it and can't be arsed to install it again.
