1 Million population

I have city with 1,100,000 people (It use to be 1,500,000 but I removed all buildings that have went brown and my population droped to 500,000 then up to 1,000,000 and I lost all my S sims which was kind of a good thing) now I want to get SSS but 800,000 of my sims are SS and only 100,000 are SSS. I tried everything but they won't come and I don't want to use cheat codes or mods. got any idea?

Well first, get those red disirabilities out of there. Make sure you have education, health, fire and police coverages in those areas. Also, add some recreational lots and parks.

Hi. First, $$$ sims are very hard to please. The most important factors for the $$$ developement are demand and desirability. They want travel too far, and they rarely use public transportation. This means you need a lot of attractive jobs close to your rich sims, but at same time they are very picky with pollution, so trafficnoise is a major problem, along with any other form of pollution. $$$ sims are whining a lot, thats why I use to keep em low in numbers, and usually stick with $$ as the major pop. There are some threads on this topic on the forum, try search "$$$" or "$$$ desirability" etc and you may get some more tips on how to boost your demand. Good luck.

If your city was all $$$ who would pick up the garbage, repair things, drive school buses, etc.?  You should expect to have a more balanced city than that.

I'd like know something, when say 1.5mil in your city, did you really mean in the "city" or do you mean your region? I have 420K and runnig out of room. Can this be done while still keeping traffic under control?

it can be done, but traffic and noise would be a huge problem. i have seen pics of citys in the 2-3 million people population, probably more.

pollution would be a big factor as well due to all the cars on thre roads, so i would gear more towards $$ population.

EDIT: if u have ever seen a CAM (collosus add-on mod) city, u would be stunned at the size of these metropolis's 40-50 million sims in a region, 10-12 million a city sometimes.

wow.. how do you guys get so much population T_T, the cities I usually play on, I usually only get the population up to 6k or 7k... Is 1.2GB Ram sufficient to hold a city with 1.2million sims ? ...

More than 1,000,000 sims in a city seems almost impossible to me. My biggest city so far had around 300,000 of them and I was running out of space with the constant demand for industry and commercial zones. And yes, most of the housing was high density.

So, if anyone has good hints about how to build cities with a population over 1,000,000, tell me pls.

Yeah, there are. Mostly, it's the fact that demand for commercial space increases massively. I have the Colossus Modd, and it is great, but the commercial issue is irritating. You can end up, as I have, with a city of 1m+ people with even more jobs! You can alleviate the problem by raising taxes, I guess, but more importantly connecting a given city to only one or two other cities, instead of all fours.

I got the game fairly recently, in August, and did some experimenting with cheats, to my regret. Anyway, my biggest city has ballooned to 2.55m, but it's difficult to play it.

u need to register to be able to download stuff, but it is well worth it. my best advice i can give u is to read the readme file that comes with it. if not, u may run into some serious issues.
