Some Questions and Concerns

Okay, so I've been a fan of Sim City since the start and I had my concerns about the game as with most of you I would think. But I was willing to give it a shot, but from all of the game review sites I've been to, the concensus is not positive. But despite that, being a Sim City Enthusiasts and the fact that some things that the game critics consider cons about the series I consider pros I would like to address my questions to Sim City fans specifically.

The first set of questions I have are concerning things I thought could've have been better handled in Sim City 4.

1. Are there curved roads in this game?

2. Can you build multi-leveled streets?

3. Can you mix zones? I find that in many downtown buildings, the upper floors are residential and the first floor is commercial, is this in Sim City Societies?

Here are some concerns I have about Sim City Societies in general.

4. How large are the city lots? I've seen many screen shots of the game, yet I've yet to see a full-blown city or anything near to it? It is possible? Is the map endless?

5. When I saw the screenshots, some of the scales seemed off and the game looked a little cartoony? Is it a big deal? Should I worry about it?

6. One thing that really intrigues me about this new title is the new camera. It's full 3D right? Is it worth buying the game simply for this experience? Or should I wait for Cities Unlimited, which also seems to have this 3D camera.

Thanks for reading my questions.

No curved streets.

No multilevelled streets...only two kinds of streets..period.

No zones...everything is plopped from a menu of building choices.

City maps are not very large.  I don't think it would be possible to achieve a city of more than 100,000 population.

The scale might be off  a little but I find it to be graphically quite nice although I don't like the architecture of a lot of the buildings...but that's just a personal opinion.

Yes it's fully 3-D...no I wouldn't buy it just for that.

Beware of the performance.  I have played it a total of about 8 hours and it's crashed only once on me and I haven't noticed much slowdown but I've only gotten a city of about 10,000 population.  A lot of people seem to be having technical problems with it however.

I understand your concern but I can tell you the game appears for those with 1 brain cell and someone else can tell you it awesome.

So I suggest you kiss a 50 spot good-bye and go buy the game. The worse case is your out 50 bucks but the good news is you will have a very expensive drink coaster.2.gif
