This is my first city journal so I apologise if I do anything wrong. My cities aren't perfect, my tereforming is simplistic, I don't care for realism and I like it when my cities are high density. I'll never be able to name all the BATs I've used and I'll sometimes take ages on an update but if you bare with me, I'm sure I'll be able to interest you with my city building.

Now I've got the introduction over and done with, let me show you lace w:st="on">Meridian3.giflace>. lace w:st="on">Meridian3.giflace> is a large nation with a booming economy, a former industrial capital; it recently has become a huge business centre and home to a large population.

To begin, I'll start with some teaser shots

Beach sideThis is the beachside neighborhood where the upper middle class call home, large villas are right on the beachfront and townhouses are further back. It's close to the main shopping district and is linked by train to all areas of the city.

Overview.jpg

This is an overview of the river mouth, showing all the bridges and segments of the industrial and financial districts. Also visible is the main train station, Imaginatively called 'Central'

PastelDistrict.jpgThis is the district known by locals as simply 'Pastel' Home to a mixed crowd consisting of students, young professionals and retired people, it's a generally peaceful area right in the middle of town. It's also close to the financial district which employs are large amount of the cities population.

looks very nice to start with, great water mod - although it appears you have taken pics when you cities have not fully loaded so some of the buildings have not showed up - also remember to minimize the mayor panel

I also suggest you take a look at the sticky guide to 'Posting a City Journal' at the top of this page

looks nice though but room for improvement 3.gif

And also, I suggest to add some more custom content. It wont hurt, but I suggest you look into "plug-in Mania" in the omnibus section. It will save you some headache. Looks like a good start and a good first cj. Looking for some updates!

Welcome Congius. I'm liking those rowhouses overlooking the beach. As for your introduction, there are no 'perfect' cities here on Simtropolis. Every CJ'er is unique and brings new ideas. Keep up the great work.

cleaner475: Thanks for the advice, I'm always trying to improve things amd I hope that becomes visible through future updates

bbfan02: Hi, I've tried looking for 'plug-in mania' but I can't seem to find it, you couldn't point me in the right direction? Please?

    Schulmanator:Thankyou!

calibanX: Haha, thanks, I'm kind of a neatfreak in other acpects of my life so I get frustrated when my city isn't exact. I gave up recently and I seem to enjoy the game more.

KingTitan: Yeah, I'm starting to look more and more and when I have time later, I'll comment.

    UPDATE!

In the below photo, and overview of the cities eastern side is on view, along with the newly built airport, around the airport is some reclaimed farmland.

    1-25Nov.jpg

In the below image you can see the stadium district which is in an of some deprivation, however new developments are creating a revival of the area.

If you have a half decent computer you need to turn up the graphic detail, then restart the game. Your lots aren't very detailed at the moment because the graphics are on a lower settingsetting. Once changed your city will look a LOT better. Otherwise your off to a nice start :-)

Nice planning, good start! I may suggest a few more downloads to stop all that repetition.

Looks good, except you have a lot of blackened buildings, and the low density mansions look a little out of place in the skyscraper jungle. Other than that, fantastic job!

    Update!

Western Island isn't really an island but it's been called that so long no one can remember why. It's a small suburban city located near the mountains.

I only have one image for today as my computer as I'm just about to go out.

This is the city centre, the city is built around a large park where locals and tourists alike spend long summer days.
