hmm yea, those posts from the ingame el rail could present a problem....I hope someone can help you figure out what to do there. Great job on getting the sloped peices to align together.

ps: tell the gardener to trim those trees growing on the tracks 3.gif

sweeeeeeeeeet nibblets Buddybud wow that is soo great and i would go with what you learned from MIncroabl and what you did for the second go around, yea sure it would mean more models but you wouldn't have the streets to worry about... Also no disclaimers about no TE and no switching lol....

    Wow, awesome slope conforming work!

Shame about the pylons, the original Maxis types are hideous... all those exemplars can fry your brain sometimes.46.gif

BuddyBud, ArckenbergJoe over at Simforum.de has done a great job of replacing the NAM's Elevated Railway Models - just have alook here and here. A cooperation between you and him may be a good thing for both of you!

As far as I know ArckenbergJoe's English is not very good. If you want to contact him you may either contact Andreas Roth or use me as your translator!

well i got rid of the posts thanx to Ardecila and ArckenbergJoe's heavy rail mod. i essentially copied a below ground model from the simcity.dat and used that to replace the in-game pylon.  so theres a model there but its really small and is just below ground. it doesn't appear in the subway view etc. theres probably a better method but for now this works. still not sure about the textures, but next step is to create some t21 exemplars for all the other pieces. ill be starting a development thread over at sc4devotion but ill maintain and keep up this thread active. ill provide a link when it gets going.

Sim shady    -- thanx man. gardener's have been notified sir.

    Silur              -- as well as i can...lol

    patfirefghtr  -- agreed and thanx

El Burro        -- thanx and no worries....brains been fried for awhile...

Nardo69       -- thanx brother. i've yet to contact either but used his add-on to figure out what to do...

    cheers everyone.

    fantastic! This really looks great!

I have a question though, do you plan on redoing textures for el-rail over transit networks; the grass on the road parts obviously look terrible

to quote myself "but next step is to create some t21 exemplars for all the other pieces", which in plain speak means redoing textures for el-rail over transit networks. though they are props not textures......im just kind of getting my feet wet.....so ya thats the plan as long as i can figure out how to do so.  and again just to point out this is not new its based on MIncroabl's work over at sc4devotion. all the props base legs and skirt could be altered depending on zone and wealth..but for now im just getting the base done. infact if his mod gets released it may prove pointless to pursue this...we'll see. for now its a learning experience for me.

EDIT  first attempt at custom t21 exemplar's successful but butt ugly lol.... so there ya go shady my man.

    lookmanograssxe9.jpg

EDIT 2  its freaking hard to get the textures to match. but i think this is getting somewhere near good. the actual road top is a maxis model. it seems they couldnt even match their own textures....lol. now the next big step is dealing with mirrored pieces.

um.....to quote myself "the actual road top is a maxis model. it seems they couldnt even match their own textures....lol." which in plain speak means..."the actual road top is a maxis model. it seems they couldnt even match their own textures....lol." which can also be interpreted as " i am only responsible for the elrail model bits that are green, the sidewalks and dirty textures underneath. . NOT the network textures themselves. Maxis are the ones who got the other two pretty close.....do you not think i would add a shadow band down the middle like all the other pieces. do you not think i would able to match up textures after all the stuff you've seen me do int the past......have you no faith in me SimShady!!?? .lol.....i may get into replacing the network models and textures themselves...but not as of yet.

anyways just thought id point that out..10.gif.heh

and a couple more models/textures for your amusement. standard maxis network texture disclaimer applies.

    please ignore maxis textures.........

and here are some network props designed by me....though they dont quite match...not yet atleast...someday who knows. i hate to one up maxis....anyways heres something difficult ive been working on.

kk lol, I thought you had dumped those maxis textures and had gone about working your magic making new textures and all 3.gif

Btw nice job one the one-way road texture...lol jk 3.gif

One other thing, i have noticed you have something over the road pieces, electric line thingies?, they look good. oh, and you can hit me on the head if you already mentioned those somewhere on here 3.gif

heres a small update. just put together a corner prop. the road texture itself has to be lightened considerably. but you get more of a complete idea of how this will look when finished. just mentally add a bunch of props 4.gif

Im having trouble creating a flipped prop for this tile but i know theres a solution. but so far it eludes me. theres going to  be many more props to complete but ill keep going. ...cheers.

oh and a big Hello to Aleking

Very nice indeed. Remember to backup every so often. 3.gif

Also, I wouldn't mind you re-doing those sunken road things next. 2.gif
