Looking about on the lots for downloads, I've seen ponds sets etc. Is this what people use to create ponds, canals, rivers and waterfalls?

I havent had a chance to play with them yet, but do these still require rivers to be already be sculpted while Teraforming? If they are plopped during city building, do they still act as a source of water or not?

The problem is that there is no hydrological cycle in the game.  There is only one water table, so rivers are out.  Only canals are really possible.

Some people have done a lot of work to make it appear as if there are water flows.  These can be found on the various exchanges as power dams, etc.

So, have a look around.  You may find what you want.

Pegasus, and SimGoober have produced a good supply of ponds, and canals.  Which include waterfalls, and hydroelectric dams.  There are all plopped after the city is incorporated.  They are not compatable with the game water, you need transition lots to combine them.

The only water source for the game are water pumps, either default, or custom downloads.

Also, if you dont like anything on this site (which I highly doubt), you can check over at Peg's site and sc4devotion. Sometimes they have different things there that they didnt release here.
