Looks like with these screenshots, EA and Tilted Mill wanted to answer to those that said it's impossible to make a realistic city with SCS. And yes, like MrCinatit said, there's been graphics polishing compared the previous screenshots. I think the visuals here are quite likely to be those of the release of the game.

Well, I'm going to go out on a limb here but it looks as if no avenues,diags/freeways/airports will be released with this game. The silence has been deafening from the TM crew. We still don't know the finer details of this game and its almost a month away from release. Things like online play, mod-ability(hints) and an exhaustive answer on transport options/road types. Either they are about to blow us out of the water, or trying not to let out news that they would deem extremely deflating.

It's a fine line for sure.

I'm guessing and hoping then there will be a "Rush Hour" like ex pack. Or the ability to make them ourselves. If not this game will have a very short life-span no matter how good it looks or even plays. I feel they have to know this so I'm somewhat optimistic one of the two will happen. In fact, it would be downright foolish not too.

The last two releases of screens are impressive, but I just don't understand how you go full 3d with no diag roads(at least from what we've seen). Why go 3d then? Why is it so friggin hard to produce diag roads butting up agianst 3d buildings? If they are just teasing then they win :0.

Knowing what I know of what isn't in Societies makes the screenshots look empty to me. Its funny to me because when I first saw screenshots from Societies way back in June I was excited, that was until I learned they gutted the game to make a tropico-ceasar-sims mish mash that's been neutered to resemble Simcity Classic all the while saying "unlimited possiblities" and "the cities of your dreams" but interestingly enough, with a much more limited tool set to create with.

I suppose it has yet to be seen what will finally come of this. However, I pretty sure already that there will be no Rush Hour like expansion pack because I don't think the game engine is capable of it, at all. Such as multiple layers of transit, like roads over roads or anything underground such as real subways or road tunnels. In fact, when a TM dev responded to the question of there we will be able to have bridges over roads finally, his response was you can drag roads over water to make bridges. And the subway system is actually a teleporter in effect because you only plop substations but can't make sublines because there is no subterrainian layer for transit.

Maybe I'm being too picky and expecting to much but..it just doesn't do it for me.

But they aren't even pretty to me. Not interested, though I hope those who do buy it, enjoy it. And I hope this is just a game EA will have just for the time being, and I then hope we get another much better game soon!

Just because they are quiet does not mean it is not in the game. At least wait until it is released and the capabilities are revealed before you say it is terrible and I can't wait until the next one. I am worried that they will take out a lot of what I like but I will wait and pass judgement after I know for sure what the game has and does not have. Anyway, this is not the last hope because cities unlimited sounds very promising.
