Well, i got my new computer and of course wanted to install SC4 on it...

However, i can't.

When i try to install using either autorun or just opening the exe, nothing happens. No process is opened. Nothing at all.

I doubt there's anything wrong with the disc as it worked fine a while ago and hasn't been used since.

Help would be appreciated.

Specs:

CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz

RAM: 3GB Kingston DDR2 667 MHz

GPU: 8800 GTX 768 MB

Windows Vista (probably the source of the problem but i've heard of people running SC4 on it)

I don’t know what could be happening. It might be that you can’t run the installer because you don't have proper privigles, like if the computer had other users on it and you are not the administrator. If that is not the case, then it is probably vista. One way to fix the problem could be to run in compatibility mode (if vista has it)

To activate compatibility mode:

1. Right click on the exe and pick properties

2. when the window opens up, click on the compatibility tab

3 click the "run this program in compatibility mode for" checkbox

4. Pick "Windows XP" or some other thing that will run it properly (2000, Me etc)

5. Click Apply then exit out of the properties window

6. Run the exe

If you cant do that (you can on xp I don't know about vista) then i don't know what the problem is maybe someone else will.

If it does work, make sure to do the same process above to simcity4.exe after it is installed.

I've tried the compatibility modes, all of them. They didn't help.

I am the administrator and there are no other user accounts.
