No, I'm running at the default (slowest) speed. On avenues it's particularly noticeable, they just go way too fast.

Is there a way (a mod maybe?) to slow down traffic? It seems to me the cars go way too fast, especially on avenues. GLR goes even faster. It looks a bit silly to have a tram zooming around at what looks like 250 kph.

Well... last time I looked at CXL was a year or two ago, and it certainly seemed better then. I see some people say it's still in the early stages of development and more features will come. I will perhaps look at it again in a few years, and stay with SC4 when the citybuilder bug bites me in the meantime.

Multiplayer is something I perhaps would try, but no guarantees. If there is no region analogue in the single player, well, no. I don't want to go back to single cities with no connection after SC4, so I'd just keep playing that. What's up with the subscription thing? What are we paying for? The reason MMOs have subscriptions is because there's a huge cost involved in running servers for hundreds of thousands or millions of people and constantly developing content. With conventional games, however, it's usually the players hosting the games with dedicated servers. Why can't this be done in CXL?

I think the dual core problem only applies to AMD processors. SC4 doesn't have any problems with Vista as far as i know. It's either some of your drivers (try updating as Need4Camaro said) or possibly faulty plugins.

Everyone i've heard (including some game devs) has always said that multithreading is something that needs to be built into the game from the ground up and can't be just patched in. But i know little about the matter myself.

The environment meter is silly. In a functional, mostly clean city it's usually still red all the way. So i just don't care about it. It doesn't really matter.
-
What do you need money for if not for construction and providing services to the people? You really don't need to have hundreds of thousands at all times, but i find i almost always do, anyways.

Hmm... This thread has very much inspired me to make more realistic airports. Is it possible to make the game think it's a real, functional airport, as in, make it work like the default airports? Perhaps blank lots giving you the advantages of airports?

And that's region population. You could just build a small farming village somewhere. They are always nice, and also an easy way to get those 1x1 lots.

Santos16 - A black hole is caused by gravitational collapse, that is, the object's internal pressure isn't enough to resist it's own gravity. Theoretically, they could apparently be formed by high-energy collisions, but i know nothing about that really, except that it hasn't been observed. Not yet, anyways.

Question about time between cities
Elukka replied to Pubcrawler's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Amount of jobs and residents do matter. Time doesn't. If you have a town with 10 000 people and the neighboring town has 10 000 jobs, it works. Yes, if you had 100 jobs for 10 000 people, they wouldn't have enough jobs. -
I think some way to make huge maps, be it regions a la SC4 or not, is a must. After SC4, i really doubt i could play a game where i am severely limited in terms of space.
