Is the Radical Ordinance mod irremovable?

I've searched my whole computer for Radical, demand, crime, auto, and anything else that would contain the file and removed all of them [ I had a  ton placed at random spots on my computer ]. I still have the radical ordinance mod stuck in my game, and I want it gone.I also tried new regions and cities just in case it became permanent in areas that were already loaded. Still there. So, what can I do to get rid of this?

BattleField-2142...

As far as I know, it could only be one of two places to affect the game...

Check in MyDocuments/SimCity 4/Plugins folder or the Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Plugins folder.

The file name is "Plugin_RadicalOrdinance" (at least when I downloaded it). Hope this helps.

Culprit discovered! When I made all my files .rar only to figure out Sc4 couldnt read .rar, when I decompressed it, it put certain files in two formats. The original, and a .dat.

I had the radical ordinance mod in a folder called random mods, and so many more random spots. Anyway, I found a .dat called "Random mods" so, when I found that same "Plugins_compressed" folder contained many more .dats of every one of my files, I found out that the radical ordinance mod was hiding in that .dat! How winrar thought doing that would be useful, I dont know, but it did! Thanks for helping CaptCity.

Sadly for me, I lose all my cities because I had to remove the plugins half by  half to find the bad plugin folder.

The only good news about losing the cities is that it was a completely new region with only 105k people because my last hard drive crashed. So I dont lose much more 9.gif

Well, I hope you will do two things now:

    1.  Keep your plugins organized in subfolders, not combining any given mod or download.  What you save in load time can be a headache editing later.

    2.  Make backups of your Regions and Plugins in sync.  When I do this, I save the whole Simcity 4 folder on a DVD and add the My programs\Maxis\Simcity 4\plugins file as well.  This gives you a full check point for the game.  If you use RW media, you can keep two disks and alternate them.  Be sure you get the labels on the disks right.

Thanks, but wont more sub folders add more load time, as it has to load both the folder and the stuff inside?

And for the discs, a great idea, but I never got to it as all the discs I could find had something on it I didnt want to remove and they are expensive. Also overwriting the old save may take awhile.
