Missing texts and no music

Hi guys!

Hope someone can help me with two annoying problems that cropped up after installing some files into my plugins folder.  The game seems to be running fine and I can actually still enjoy playing despite the two issues.  One is that I hear no music while playing the game, but the sound effects (traffic, bulldoze, etc) are ok.  I've adjusted the volume, but to no avail.  Secondly, the texts in the dialogue boxes and popup boxes are missing or don't show up properly.  I get the message "NOT IN TEXT DATABASE" or ###### (see attached pictures for some examples).  The most annoying part is when I choose to drive and an attempt a misson, the description of the mission doesn't show up and I end up guessing whether to accept or cancel--this is also the case when the ordinances dialogue box is up, no accept and cancel buttons appear.  Hope you can help resolve these issues.  Thanks.

Remove the plugins one by one. If it does nothing put it back in. Until it does something continue till it goes back to normal. If that doesn't work, then ask someone else.

If you're sure it has something to do with plugins, follow these directions here. They offer a better way of identifying faulty plugins than testing each one individually.

i have the same problem it happen just a few days ago, when i change the game from one computer to another, i installed in a diferent one and just copied the plugin folder tothe same directory and i just dont know how to solve it, the game runs well, but cant fix he problem, if some can help us please, i dont want to lose all the plugin folder is up to 1.5gb , if i can find the fix i will let you know

Both of you should move your plugins folder out of the game on to the desktop.  Create a new plugins folder in the game.  Start the game.  If you still have this problem your major data base tables have been stepped on and it is reinstall time.

You should both read the plugin mania threat above.

EDIT:  When you make this test, look only for the text problem.  You will have lots of brown boxes.

done that. still done have text, afetr playing over a year anda ahalf and a population of 13million

There is a file named simcitylocale.dat in several folders of my simcity there is a folder for several diferent languages but no english file

i moved the game and folders from one computer to another and after that is when i stared having o residencial and no text just *******

Did you install the game on the new computer?

If you install the CD's then you can copy [overwrite] the program folders from the old computer. That way you don't have to update with the patches. Any changes you might have made to the previous game will also be active.
