ginchael:
I like your region view very much. It is so nice that you have a downtown with many suburbs surrounding it. And the rivers and hills look great, too.

And the new zoo is layed out very well.

Keep it coming!

    Woo! Page six!

    Hey guys. Unfortunately, I'm gonna be out of town for a few days. Don't expect an update until at least mid week next week.

    =================

    ILL Tonkso--Nice to see you drop by!

    Gingerblokey--I don't think multi-vocabularial is a word...well, I get what you mean. Thanks!

    oroen--Thank you very much. I really doubt it is the first time...I'm pretty sure I saw it someplace else first, but thanks a lot! Unfortunately, I'm not a perfectionist; just lazy 3.gif.

    aleking--Thanks a lot! Downtowns are often the center of transport networks (at least, its my belief that they should be. Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

    barnatom--Thank you! The suburbs are ever expanding, though...accursed zoning changes!

    Comments welcome, wanted, and appreciated.

    A new resort is growing at the north edge of Mission Valley.

    Strip-overview.JPG

    Spurred by the creation of the major Six Flags Over Colorado amusement complex, many hotels are popping up in the area.

    One of the larger hotels, the Ritz Carlton, near the entrance to Six Flags Over Colorado and the San Tiejo Convention Center.

    The newest and most luxurious resort in the area, the Raven Ridge Resort; just over the hill from Six Flags!

    Even a convention center has been built. Looks like a bright future coming to this area, which is already beeing called by some Downtown San Tiejo...

    To be continued...

    Hey all. Not really an update, per se, but a region view. You can see the new sprawling amusement district growing...

    Hey guys.

    As school starts up again, the updates to this CJ will probably become less and less frequent (at least until I get those college apps in and I get a case of senioritis 2.gif). I do plan to continue this, though, until the region is completely developed.

    Plans for this Region
    In Order of Priority
    (will be crossed out as they are completed)
    aka My To-Do List

    Finish San Tiejo
    Walker areas
    Finish building Santa Juanita
    Farm Mission Valley
    Harding Metro Hi-Speed
    Finish exmpansion of southern Harding suburbs
    Finish Harding Mountainside district
    Finish North Harding.
    Dodge Hill areas
    South San Lucas River areas

    To Do List.jpg

    Then...either a new To Do List or it's finished!39.gif

    ===================
    Traffic_Jam, jacqulina- Nice of both of you to stop by! Thanks a lot!

    Hmmm...I lied yesterday.

    It seems that every time I get to page 5 or 6, I tend to get bored with a region and want to move on. This afternoon, I tried to get myself to work on my to do list. When I opened the city, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. So, I'm beginning to think that I should move on...

    Unless someone really feels that this should go on, I am going to move on to something else.

    Ay bro, it's looking good. Ay man don't stop your work in the middle of the project. If you keep up the good work you'll be competing with the most respectable city journals on Simtropolis.

    Hey there,

    It's been a while since I last posted here. But I wanted to do so now. I've been very busy these last couple of weeks and I don't see the end of the tunnel yet.41.gif So now is my free time until I get tired. So how you been? This City Journal is still fantastic. Great work on the resort areas. Great work I'm really enjoying how you are creating this one. Looks really interesting how you are doing this. Great work once again and I'll be coming back very soon! 2.gif

    Hey guys.

    The reasons there haven't been any updates recently:

    1. RLS
    2. Demand Issues

    Mostly number 2.

    In order to get my cities to my liking, I use the Radical Ordiance Mod; specifically, the Increase Commercial Office and Service ordinances. It's been fine up until this point.

    Recently, demand has been dropping like a stone across the entire region, but especially in the suburbs. Harding Mountainside has vast swaths of undeveloped subdivisions; San Tiejo refuses to let anything grow, including farms in Miison Valley; the areas along the South Harding River are just simply not developing. This is a growing problem, most likely caused by pathfinding and the large amounts of plopped buildings I use (like all those malls in Harding Mountainside and several skyscrapers in the downtowns of all of the cities. Does anyone have any idea at all how this could be rememdied?

    Please try to help me!

    =======================
    justcallmesam--Wow, thanks a lot! I will try to keep this going, if this stupid demand bug gets fixed. And I am honored that one of your only four posts is in my journal.

    DragonAnime--Thank you! Mission Valley won't look so nice soon though, when the farms and sprawl kick in.

    Simworld 056123--It's no problem; I'm just glad you decided to stop by!

    Mexicanboy13r--Well, hello there stranger! Glad to see you back! I've also been very busy, and unfortunately haven't been able to visit San Fransisco, but I'll definitely try to come by. Thanks a lot for your support, and I'll hopefully seeing you soon.

    Comments welcomed, wanted, and appreciated. And please try to help me with my demand problem!

    But for right now, I am FINALLY appeasing Mexicanboy13r by placing a park along one of my rivers.

    Almost time to cross that Harding Mountainside off that to-do list...yay!

    Mntside_Commercial.JPG

    A small commericial area.

    Mntside_Garden Ave.JPG

    A half-developed $ residential area in between many highways and avenues.

    Mntside_Mansions.JPG

    In contrast, a $$ residential area near Rayado.

    Mntside_Industry.JPG

    Some of the first high tech industry in the region.

    Mntside_Rocks.JPG

    Finally, a map of the Harding Rocks City Park, as well as an overview of the entire area.

    ===========

    Traffic_Jam--Thanks a lot, and thanks for stopping by again!

    Mexicanboy13r--Sorry man, I don't spell check. I'm lazy like that!9.gif This is the first of many large parks in the area. Others planned include one on Mount Pleasant and another near the creeks along the southern portion of the San Lucas River (Eagle Lake Park is another, see a few pages back.)

    jacqulina--Thanks, and come back soon!

    Don't put industry near the river like that. It's not going perfect now. 14.gif Remove those and put those far away from the subs. Because it's just way better all that river area can be green and lush you know. 18.gif LoL, J/K but if you want that, that's all good from me I guess. I just don't like seeing stuff out of place if you get me. Great update I wonder how you are going to build on that hilly terrain. Great work man Still enjoying your City Journal2.gif

    I've worked a lot in Pennington lately, and this side of the river is COMPLETE.

    Pen_Levee Park.JPG

    First order of business was culturing some demand by creating a large park in the Pennington Business District. It is called Levee Park.

    Pen_Lowry Hill.JPG

    Also developed is the small neighborhood of Lowry Hill. A less than a mile from the historic Lowry village, this neighborhood is one of many examples of Victorian archetecture in the area.

    Pen_Halsley Square.JPG

    Halsey Square, between Pennington and Lowry, has one huge mansion--the home of millionare Peter Wallace, the owner of a large internet company that sells exercise machines.

    Pen_Historic Lowry.JPG

    Finally, we arrive in Lowry, an artsy village northeast of Pennington. Many rich in the area...maybe a few movie stars...22.gif

    Pen_Downtown Station.JPG

    Random Pic time! A close up of the Pennington Station and central Pennington.

    Pen_Overview.JPG

    Finally, an overview of the entire area facing south.

    =============

    Mexicanboy13r--Jeez, you scared me with that bold font.47.gif As of right now, the industry needs to be there for demand reasons. But for sure, it will be moved away. That, and I was testing the waters, so to speak. Also, I don't really plan to build that far up the hills; too far up the slope, too far away from downtown, you know. Thanks for commenting!

    Hey all.  Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been having some major (and I mean MAJOR) computer issues for about a week now.  (I'm actually writing this now from a different computer.)  In addition, I've been working on my college apps, so I don't have a lot of time to fix the problem.  So, updates will be less and less frequent.  But, by November, I should be past all the RLS stuff and be able finally finish Harding!
