Avenue/Oneway intersection problems

In my game, I've made a city of Chicago mockup, and I decided to give this ending as you see below to one of the diagonal avenues:Chicago-ave-split.png

( http://www.iwu.edu/~tcousins/Chicago-ave-split.png if you can't see it.)

But, here's the problem. I want to try to duplicate this split in a different town/place, and it just won't happen. I get the one-ways seemingly trying to connect with the other sides of the avenue and just in general making a strange messy intersection. Can anyone who understands the workings of the NAM better than me possibly help me figure out how to build this again, or what might be preventing me, or even who to go to for help with this?

I built one just like that. You need to convert the avenue into one-ways just slightly before it splits apart (almost right up against the next intersection in that picture... in my case I had a 5-square block in between so a little more room). It also helps if you draw both of them leading away from the split, then "reverse" the arrows on one by drawing the far end of it inward.

Unfortunately, Liberty, I just tried that now and it still wants to make that strange crossing of the one ways. But thanks for the help.

Odd. Might be because you're on the diagonal where I was square... but it worked the square way. (Converting the avenue to one way and then steering them apart.) I thought maybe you were having the problem because you were converting and separating at the same spot...

No, it seems to simply be a problem with how it handles the one-ways nowadays, I guess.

Ah, so that's it! I thought it was maybe the roundabouts what caused it- Thanks a lot, I'll do that ASAP.

Well thats just great, thus prooves the NAM interferes with the NAM. I didn't know the avenues and one ways could do that on the diagonal to begin with.

Actually, before the NAM it couldn't happen at all, as I remember...
