    Sim_Air - Thanks!

DarkEldar - The Inclines were biult mainly for bridges although some of them didn't come out perfectly

iamihop11 - I'll be posting Parcel 11 in this upcoming update - The space you're talking about is devolped with homes on the North Bank and Farms / Rural area on the South Bank - It is conviniently placed between Highway 2 and The East West Connector at Exit 12 for quick access into the city...

Yoshiisland - Thanks! I was wondering how this project would turn out being this is the first time I've biult a CJ and is honestly only my 2nd real region since I've purchased this game (My first one failed as was deleted because it wasn't realistic enough...)

    jacqulina - Thanks!

ObladiOblada - Next update is coming up!

    Parcel 21

First lets look at an overview...

    Parcel21Overview.jpg

As we can see - The South Eastern side of the river is covered in farms, just North West of the river begins suburban sprawl off of Highway 2 which takes you into downtown. The East / West connector can easily be accessed from the Southern side of the river at the Exit 12 interchange - Leaving you 4 Exits from Highway 35 which takes you into Downtown. Now - lets get a grid shot to see which area you're interested in.

    Parcel21.jpg

The land values are as followed -

South of the Oconee - 0.2 Points Per Tile

North of the Oconee - 0.4 Points Per Tile

Add 0.2 Points per Tile for Beachfront Property!

Simply tell me which area interests you and we'll get a close up shot and arrange a file transfer - or I'll email it and from there we'll decide the best location to biuld your house.

And now back to our update

    Update 3.5!

    _________________________________________________________________________

Soni - This place doesn't seem half bad... Downtown is pretty stout for a city that isn't even supposed to exist...

-- Soni looked around, the scenery was much more appealing to the eye than the western area they departed from - No trash on the streets, no slums bumming around, and the area had a much more fresh feel to it --

    Story23.jpg

Soni - This place is noticably different, it looks almost like an American Suhburb.

Cornell - Yes, This is Eaton ... The wealthier side of town, currently even economically in better standings than South Island... Although South Island typically has higher land values...

-- Proceeding down Highway 4, Soni couldn't help but realize it felt almost entirely American, one thing was for certain aswell, they were sure passing alot of traffic lights. --

    Story24.jpg

Soni - So why is the west side of town in worse shape?

Cornell - It's not just the west side of town but everything that is on the opposite side of the Oconee river. It is that side that faces the most politcal debates. Also that side is where the most Industrial Action occurs and thus there's far more Blue Collared workers.

    Story25.jpg

Cornell - Also the land to the east is far newer and organized than the land to the west... Eaton was biult primarily as a suburban community when the demand for real estate sky rocketed here. That was because of the industrial boom. Most of them never saw it coming however.

Soni - What do you mean?

    Story26.jpg

-- Soni looked to his right to find a lot filled with palm tree's - it was a resort hotel -- just as they prepared to cross over the railroad tracks --

Cornell - When the real estate market opened to a selective few to move into the Newark Region, the Blue Colar workers from the west had invested in the land of the east... Thus when the buyers finally arrived in Newark, they believed they would be getting a fresh start and a brand new 4 Bedroom 3 Bath 2 Car Garage home... Instead, they were forced to move into the west and work for the Industrial powerhouses. The natives had bought up and developed all the land in the East for themselves...

Soni - I see... ... interesting, so is there any sign of economic boom ahead?

    Story27.jpg

Cornell - Yes, as a matter of fact. Newark has been amazing and quite possibaly one of the fastest growing urban areas in Man Kind's history. The foundation of resources is making people and businesses alike rich almost overnight. We still have quite a strong real estate demand and when people move in, rest assure commerce wants every dime they make and so shops are sprouting up everywere... They're using the rail system aswell to have trains deliver manufactured goods from our own industries... We rarely have to import anything here besides people. The Seaport is primarily used for Exporting.

Soni - Interesting, that sounds very promising... How long do you think it will hold?

Cornell - There's no way to be absolutely certain but at this rate, unless something severe happens, it won't be changing anytime soon...

    Story28.jpg

-- They proceeded through another residential area, and finally with a sense of comfort, Soni sat back and just watched the windows --

    Story29.jpg

-- and with a sense of irk, he discovered a recycling plant in the middle of a residential area... --

Soni - Hmm.. A recyling center by these homes?

Cornell - Yes, rather convinient I might add... ...There used to be nothing out here you see, The eastern side of town is newer than the west and this was merely all farmland until investors took over the property... this artifact is one of the few remains of the rural country this used to be...

Soni - And just what happened to all the farms??

Cornell - They simply made larger ones, farther east...

    Story30.jpg

-- And it wasn't long before Soni realized he was correct --

Soni - Not that I'm in a rush or anything Cornell but we've been riding for quite awhile now... where exactly are we going?

Cornell - The Furthest eastern town - Millidgeville... It's mainly a farming community MILES from the city... We should be there soon...

    Story31.jpg

-- Now,out in the middle of nowere, they came across another intersection, Soni took notice of a sign pointing the Direction of the East / West connector, they however turned just the opposite direction of it... Now heading South East... --

    Story32.jpg

-- Soon the road met the railroad that Soni remembered crossing back in Eaton and continued Eastward through the farms and rural country... --

    Story33.jpg

-- It winded through the rural country --

    Story34.jpg

-- And when Soni was certain that they were in the middle of nowere, it proved true as opporunities to pass on the oncoming traffic lanes were introduced... There were almost no cars out this way...--

    Story35.jpg

-- They passed another street in which Soni could find trucks entering and departing - it seemed to lead into an Indstrial Freight Station for the railroad...--

    Story36.jpg

-- They however proceeded straight - forward into the farms the highway navigated through and soon the railroad rejoined them... --

    Story37.jpg

-- After awhile, they finally reached an awkward trafficlight controlled intersection with a sparce few shops just hanging around in the middle of nowere. They proceeded about making a right turn crossing the railroad tracks...--

    Story38.jpg

-- And not long after it, they proceeded upon making a left turn into the first subdivision.. Soni noticed to his right, a sign advertising a zone for agriculture development. --

Cornell - Well this is it, you're in Millidgeville and you're almost home...

Soni - This place doesn't seem to happening... I'm out with the cows and the cornfields...

Cornell - It's the best we can do currently I'm afraid the government can't put us in $200,000 homes.. We'll have to work our way up...

    Story39.jpg

-- They proceeded, Soni noticed a construction crew too his right biulding a home.. and then they came to a stop sign.. --

    Story40.jpg

-- They proceeded about making a left turn, looping around back to the railroad tracks... and then just ahead... the Cornell whipped the car around and backed into the driveway of Soni's new residence... --

    Story41.jpg

-- Soni and the Cornell exited the car and proceeded about unloading all of Soni's belongings and opening the door. The house wasn't bad, it smelled fresh... It was probably only a year old.. It wasn't very large but Soni had no use for anything more than 2 bedrooms at the moment --

Cornell - Well soldier... this is it for now... I suggest you have a look around... fit in... heck even enjoy this place for a bit because you're ganna be here for awhile... I'll be back within two weeks with new orders for you... You have a vehicle aswell registered into your name and it is liscensed and fully fueled... It is parked in the garage...

Soni - Very well, and thanks Cornell.. Especially for the car, I was beggining to wonder how I was going to get out of this place...

Cornell - You're about 15 - 20 miles from Downtown, so plan your trips accordingly... The East/West connector is roughly 5 - 7 miles north of us, entry point at Exit 13 --He hands a Map to Soni-- Becarefull and stay sharp... things arn't easy here...  I'll fax you a list of employment opportunities for you to choose from... Have a good one mate! --Reenters his car and prepares to drive off...

Soni - You too... --Proceeds about walking inside his new home--

    Overview of Soni's subdivison...

    Story42.jpg

On a side note, this trip took me FOREVER even using full throtlle although I was stopping for all the lights... I hope Soni doesn't mind living in the boonies for awhile...

Until Update 4... Good luck and have fun SimTropolitans!...

Wow, this is coming up really nicely, I like how you did the whole travel scene for a while; that basically describes my whole CJ (found in my signature). That small town in the middle of nowhere reminds me of when I drove from my old Clearwater, Florida home to Ft' Lauderdale (about an hour north of Miami). Just before we went through the Everglades--miles and miles of marsh, wood, and swamp, I passed through a small town. Can't remember the name, but I can remember it was whiped off the face of the map by Hurricane Charley in 04.

Well, anyways, It would be best if I kept the idle chat to a minimum, so I'll say this. Keep it up, you're doing a fantastic job.

    Looking forward to more,

Brilliant! I love the pics, and the story is intriguing. I actually read through it twice. I love geography and photography, I'm hoping to major in English over the next 4 years, and I work in at architecture firm -- this blends them all together amazingly.

I'm salivating over that farm in parcel 21, C4. It's on the north bank, not too far from route 2, and could be a beautiful spot for a home. Would I be able to buy most of that section and put multiple houses on it? Would it have to get approved by some county planning commission? I could plan the community, maybe even put a little commercial in the area. Tell me what the restrictions are...I'm ready to go into real estate. 4.gif

Again, wonderful idea and excellent execution.

    Thanks,

    ihop

Yoshiisland - You now live in Ft' Lauderdale? I live in Atlanta GA and I know where Ft'Lauderdale is, between the Florida Turnpike and I-95 Correct? Nice to know we have some southeasterns. I know of all the farms that way too, especially orange farms, I drove U.S. 27 from Orlando to Miami (next time I'm hopping on the TurnPike) and passed through several small towns and farms. It was cool, kept running in and out of rain though. Florida's weather is unbelievable. Completely cloudless on oneside of the highway and Doomsday rain on the otherside.

2nerdy4u - Thanks, Parcel 4 is coming up.

ObladiOblada - Thanks, there's more to come aswell.

jacqulina - Thanks, I try to be very detailed.

iamihop11 - Thanks, I have photo's of C4 aswell as a price description. I made a mild mistake however - I thought you started with 50 Points but instead it was only 30... I'm sorry. Basically though since Residential Demand is sky rocketing anyway, the government will "Grant" you points to biuld.

Houston_Fan - I've added you to the scoreboard - you begin with 30...

truflip99 - Thanks, you've been added to the scoreboard, you'll begin with 30 points.

    Okay, lets get started...

    _________________________________

First thing's first, 2nerdy4u wants to see Parcel 4 and iamihop11 wants to see Parcel C4 of Parcel 21...

First lets have a look at...

    Parcel 4

    Parcel4-Grid.jpg

    Grid A

    Grid B

    Parcel4-GridA.jpg Parcel4-GridB.jpg

Parcel 4 is divided into two Islands, One grid for each island. Neither of them are named so I'll give you first choice on naming them when you choose. Just choose a grid section and tell me what you think and we'll go from there...

As for iamihop11 - Lets have a look at C4...

    Parcel21-1.jpg Parcel21-2.jpg

Simply click on these images for more information. For your points, since I didn't realize before posting this image... I will leave with the points listed to biuld your subdivision. If you have any questions... tell me and I'll be more than happy to answer them...

    Now lets get on with...

    Update 4!

    ________________________________________________________

As we last left off, Soni has been placed in his new Home in the Newark Region, Millidgeville. While things arn't going to be very convinient for him at the moment, he will certainly make do. We're going to take a break from Soni's life for a moment and concentrate on the structure that this city is biult upon.

Lets go over Highway 2, both the parts Soni traveled over and the parts we have yet to see.

    Hwy2-1.jpg

Entering the denser area of Newark, we continue to ride parralell to the railroad tracks. These tracks offer convinient shipping methods from Industries to ship to the Seaport. The power company's powerlines also follow the majority of this route westward to power farms and homes throughout this region.

    Hwy2-2.jpg

Hwy 2 passes over the rail lines that lead to the seaport and enters the downtown district. This stretch is used primairly by residents going towards the East/West Connector, or into Downtown.

    Hwy2-3.jpg

Entering Midtown which is full of mostly apartments and multifamily homes. Proceeding Eastward brings you closer to Downtown.

    Hwy2-4.jpg

The Elementary and High School conviniently located inside Midtown, right off of Highway 2, This usually causes for a huge traffic jam come morning time when the School Zone is activated.

    Hwy2-5.jpg

Proceeding over Highway 35 which remains the marker for Highway 2 that you're passing into Downtown...

    Hwy2-6.jpg

Hwy 2 Proceeds into Downtown, proceeding North East, passing by the Newark Region Hospital. Currently Hwy 2 remains only 2 lanes and during peak hours suffers traffic jams. Most of this portion of downtown was merely forestry and grasslands and only Hwy 2 a simple decade ago.

    Hwy2-7.jpg

Hwy 2 Proceeds through more Office Complex's that make up downtown, and an Old Water Tower that was once surrounded by nothing but trees.

    Hwy2-8.jpg

Hwy 2 Proceeds North, crossing over the railroad tracks and preparing its final interchange with the East/West connector. This intersection would make the end of downtown. This road is populated with Condo's and Apartments for those who crave the city life and want to live convinient to Downtown.

    Hwy2-9.jpg

After its final Interchange with The East / West Connector, Hwy 2 continues to proceed north, through several roads that access subdivions, apartments and businesses, and over another set of Railroad tracks. The power company's Pylons return,,,

    Hwy2-10.jpg

Proceeding North East, Hwy 2 runs paralell with the tracks, now with houses and subdivisions sparciely scattered upon it. - Gas stations can be found here and there as comercial property begins to boom...

    Hwy2-11.jpg

Hwy 2 Proceeds North East through the suburban Newark are, passing another High School, running parralell with the railroad tracks and power pylons. This sector servers to connect the suburban subdivisions into the Newark Downtown Area. The road out here being only two lanes is a complicated travel matter during rushhour... There are no limited access freeways that service this side of town. Hwy 2 will eventually have to be upgraded, but into what?

    Hwy2-12.jpg

Further North East from Downtown, we now see farms, and even another recycling center as the North Bridge docks from eaton into Newark preparing to intersect with Hwy 2. Farms are based off the railroad here for easy freight shipping and recieving. Rail stations are conviniently placed throughout the area permit transportig goods by rail without having to travel too far. This is to reduce truck congestion here...

    Hwy2-13.jpg

Hwy 2 Proceeds North East, Intersection the road that is carried across North Bridge, South into the Eaton Suburban area. This bridge allows residents quicker access to the farms this way without having to cross via the East/West connector to get to Highway 2.

From here Highway 2 enter's Parcel 21 and into another rural farming community where it eventually just fades into nothingness but tree's as it follows the Oconee river North.

With that said - Newark has 5 Major Bridges that provide access to 5 different portions of the city... Lets have a look.

    NorthBridgeEntrance.jpg

Riverside Pkwy intersecting the Interchange for the North Bridge Entrance on the Eaton Side of the Newark Region. This provides Eatons residents a quick way to cross over the Oconee River without using The East / West connector.. North Bridge is the far most bridge before entering Parcel 21.

    NorthBridge.jpg

North Bridge crossing over the Oconee River, proceeding to Highway 2. You can usually see your job from this high as most employers and farms are below the bridge height level.

    EastWestBridge.jpg

The East/West Connector and South Shore Rail line share positions as they cross over the Oconee river, the suburban Eaton community into Downtown Newark. The rail line is used to transport freight from farther east, and was heavily use to transport freight when Eaton was mostly farmland.

    EatonBridge.jpg

Eaton Bridge was biult to carry Highway 4 from Downtown Newark at it's Hwy 35 Terminus, to Eaton's suburban area... it was only 1 lane eachway when Eaton was mostly farmland, however recently upgraded into a Divided 2 lane each way Highway. The Eaton side of this bridge has an escalating population as Town Homes, Apartments and Condo's have biult upon the banks of the Oconee River and Shores of the Ocean as residents wanted to be near the Newark Downtown area.

    DowntownOverview3.jpg

Highway 4 and Highway 35 Prepare to Ascend into bridges from their Intersections as they leave Downtown, Hwy 4 to Eaton and Hwy 35 to South Island.

    SouthIslandBridge.jpg

South Island Bridge connecting the residents from the Sky Rocketing landvalues of South Island, into Downtown Newark, this bridge was also recently widened into two lanes each direction to accomidate for escalating traffic and a growing downtown.

and those are the bridges in the Newark Region. With that said, that leaves us with only the rail system to cover.

The rail system in Newark is based on a Collector / Distributor system which offers depots and freight stations throughout the region to collect goods and put them onto a Train. Private Industries also posess Rail Rights...

    Rail1.jpg

This freight station collects both, resources and goods imported from the Coaling Mountains North of here, where they are either stored or manufactured and sent south into the Seaport, or recieves goods from the industries within the area to export them at the Seaport.

    Rail2.jpg

    Train leaving for the Seaport.

    Rail3.jpg

Massive Rail Junction brings Rails from throughout the region together as they head for the seaport for exporting and importing goods.

    Rail4.jpg

Newarks Seaport in which the Rails form a V around it, loading and unloading at the major port areas. From here, Newarks goods enter a long journey across the Atlantic ocean, into their destination in which the goods are sold to benefit the growing economy of Newark.

Thats all for the transportation briefing... Before I stop, lets have a look at some teasers for our next update which will go in debth about the city itself...

    _______________________________________________

    DowntownOverview1.jpg

This is the denser urban area of Newark, lets have a look at whats highlighted...

#1 - Midtown, Mostly Lowerclass Apartments and Residential Areas.

#2 - Downtown Newark, Most Commercial Office of $$ and alittle bit of $$$ with sprouts of Condo's and Apartments for a higher value.

#3 - Downtown Eaton, While apart of Newark's Region, the eastern side of Eaton is mainly a suburban community. This portion is biult of Higher Priced Condo's, and Apartments as it is convinient and easy to get to Downtown.

#4 - The Newark Seaport, Imports and Exports goods from the Newark Region.

#5 - Dense Industrial Area - This area was at first smaller however convinient access to the bypass, highway 202 allowed trucks to easily manuever between here and commercial services. This also serves as a waypoint between the Coaling Industries before arriving at the Seaport.

    DowntownOverview2.jpg

Closer look at Downtown Newark / Eaton.

    Nice idea.

You should use a terrain mod (meadowshire) and a water mod (hawaiian?) to get a better look.

Once again, I am impressed by the detail and realism.  My favorite element of this last update was certainly the seaport -- very well done.

I like the look of that farm, but I don't have enough points to purchase the whole thing yet, so I sketched out a plan for a possible residential development, that I would like to call Lina Park.

Phase I is included in the picture of the area:

    http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/731/parcel211outlayqf9.jpg

Red encircles the desired land to be purchased, Dark green represents medium-density residential, light green = low-density residential, dark blue outlines bus stops, aqua outlines the two proposed parks, and gray indicates the street to service the development.  The drawing may not be completely accurate because the farmland made it more difficult to discern the grid, but it gives a good sense.

Phase II of development, which might be developed further once I gather more points, might include purchasing the rest of the farm, enlarging the road providing access to it, adding more residential and perhaps (if zoning allows it) some minor commercial offices.  Also, a proposal exists to build a passenger and/or freight rail station on the opposite side of the tracks from Lina Park. Finally, phase II would begin to address education, healthcare, and athletics in the region, unless this is handled by the government.

Hopefully this isn't too long, but I've done a cost estimate for the project.  There are some gaps which need to be filled, and my math may be wrong, so it'll need to be checked:

    Purchase
    49 tiles + 49 tiles + 21 tiles = 119 tiles purchased at .2 points/tile = 23.8 points

    Destruction
    Destruction of development on 105 tiles : 105 * .1 = 10.5 points

34.3    Points for purchase and destruction

    Zoning, Development
    41 mid-density tiles– 4.1 to zone
    57 low-density tiles – 5.7 to zone
                Total zoning: 9.8 points

    Transportation
1.4 points for 14 street tiles
    2 bus stops -- ???
Upgrade service street to road : 15 tiles at ??? points/tile
Road to be named Lina Park Way.

    Parks, recreation
    1 medium park green – 4 tiles at .5 points/tile : 2 points
    1 small flower garden – 1 tile at .5 points/tile : .5 points

    Current Funds – 31 points
    Development Grant – 20 points

    Lina Park Development Cost – 48 points + 2 bus stops/Road upgrade

P.S.  I'm having WAY too much fun planning this thing...maybe I should forget English and go into urban planning.

yay update! looks good my friend. excellent realistic layout.

now, as for my land desires, i can decide between Grid A D2, Grid B C4, and Grid B D4...

    I think I'll take Grid A D2!

    now for some calculations...

It was cool, kept running in and out of rain though. Florida's weather is unbelievable. Completely cloudless on oneside of the highway and Doomsday rain on the otherside.

The East/West Connector and South Shore Rail line share positions as they cross over the Oconee river, the suburban Eaton community into Downtown Newark. The rail line is used to transport freight from farther east, and was heavily use to transport freight when Eaton was mostly farmland.quote>

Actually, when I said "old Clearwater home" I meant I moved to East Lake in Tarpon Springs, Florida.  But I still live in the southeast.

Did you know there's a rail line I rode from Chicago Illinois to South Bend, Indianna, called the South Shore Line?

Lastly, is it possible to purchase bridges?  Those looked pretty nice, particularly the South Island Bridge and East/West connector.  If so, how much would they cost?

Very nice detail, great pics, good looking industrial district and a great seaport.  One question, where'd you get the rail station in this picture?

P.S.  I'm having WAY too much fun planning this thing...maybe I should forget English and go into urban planning.

    quote>

Construction will start immideately upon your approval that if I understand correctly -

    32 Points + 20 Point development grant = 52 Points

Lina Park Development = 48 Points - Road upgrades and Bus Service (when it's available) will be covered by the city at no charge to you as it's the city's job to ensure that traffic flows correctly. Since this road leads to your subdivision, you will also beable to name it, and any street in your subdivison at no charge additionally..

This leaves you with a total of...

    4 Points - Shall I proceed?

    Mini Update!

    jacqulina - Thanks alot!

ObladiOblada - Yeah, I biult it on a rather slow and steady pace so each area could resemble something unique about itself... The coolest part is, it's not entirely eye candy as it is 100% functional aswell, even the freight stations at the Seaport - they truly do ship goods to the seaport where the seaport acts as a neighbor connection.

Moshi - I'll keep that in mind! Thanks for the suggestion. You've been added to the score list and you will begin with 30 Points.

iamihop11 - Very well, I believe I understand what you desire and I can begin biulding immediately, check the post above to see if I understand correctly... Just to note however, the region has no Bus service or Railroad Passenger service as of yet...

2nerdy4u - Pictures of that are coming up...

Yoshiisland - Yes, I know of the South Shore Line in Chicago Illinoise, It is elevated in Chicago and has at-grade crossings through Indiana and is proppelled by overhead electric lines running parrallel with I-80/90 and Freight Rail Lines just south of the Beach for Lake Michigan for a good portion of its trip... ...I used to ride that train every day when I lived in the East Chicago Suburbs of Indiana, just east of Gary...  I loved trains - Chicago by far has the most awsome train system in this country, only seconded by New York. I live in Atlanta and we have a laughable exuse for a rail system, it's a joke really.  I believe they have put a portion of the South Shore Line underground where it used to have At-Grade Crossings just after the Terminus of the Skyway just east of Downtown Chicago. As for the Freight Rail Station, I'll have to look it up for you as I only have the data file that was coppied from my old PC on this computer... ... Simtropolis isn't letting me search. The filename however is GE_Freightstation if that helps... Sorry I can't help just yet...

Yes, it is possible to purchase and name bridges...

Street bridges cost 0.2 points per tile.

Road bridges cost 0.3 points per tile.

Avenue bridges cost 0.5 points per tile.

Highway bridges cost 0.7 points per tile.

Interstate bridges cost 1 point per tile.

Rail Bridges cost 0.4 points per tile.

    ____________________________________________________

Now....2nerdy4u is requesting pictures of Grid A D2 for Parcel 4...

    GridA-D2.jpg

For reference and tiles... I took the snapshot as the tiles were activating this way you can have a understanding of how many tiles there are.. In this picture, each grid holds 4 tiles...

    Now for the description...

    GridA-D2-Desc.jpg

As for the bridges, I can host an Ad and discount the construction of a Bridge from any member who desires to invest in one. It will be tolled until your point debt for this structure is paid off and that member will recieve points from the toll...

Should you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Update 5 should be posted by Friday Night or Saturday morning.

    Enjoy!

I haven't been around in ages so I don't really know I'm supposed to do but is anyone allowed to buy a place in amparcel that some guy has already choose to look at - I don't mean buy the same piece of land, but look and think about it? if this doesn't make sense then just disregard it.

Great work so far, really interesting way your doing this 4.gif

    keep it up,

    Richard

Ok... About transportation to the island: I'll go with the ferry.

    ferrymainlandsitexh3.jpg

    http://simpeg.com/forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item124

I want my mainland station here and I want that. How much would it cost to buy enough tiles and to build that there?

I'm quite excited about this. My eventual goal is to own that entire parcel and make the whole thing a giant resort.

Okay, I believe the South Island Bridge is about 43-45 tiles, but I'm sure since it's your wonderful city you'd be able to know for sure. A thought, but since avenues technically cover 2 tiles per segment should I double the cost?

    x1tiles=21.5 to 22.5 points

    x2tiles=43-45points

Also, down the line, could I use more of my points to upgrade to a higher level bridge (interstate) as your city grows? Good to know I'm becoming a real part of this now! This is pretty fun, actually.

cleaner475 - Yes, you're allowed to look and buy within the same Parcel, just not the exact same land unless that is you're buying jointly (using half of your points and half of their points in which I'd need to see both parties agree)...  Thank you!

2nerdy4u - Depending on the type, 8 points for pasenger and 16 points for car and passenger if I use the Maxis defaults... If you provide another, I'll give you a discount for creativity...  Also... you will be awarded points on a simulated monthly basis - 1 point per tile + 1 point per 50 passengers will be awarded monthly -

Yoshiisland - Avenue bridges will cost 0.5 Points per tile, meaning 1 point per length (0.5 per each direction)...  Yes down the road you can, and probably will have to upgrade the bridge as time progresses. If it needs to be upgraded and you fear you might not have the points, you can also always toll it to accumulate the points you need until you have what you need. I will provide you with traffic updates... Currently the interstate system hasn't arrived to Newark yet as it has not yet become a state, that happens later during the storyline... I'll give you a full price on the South Island bridge by Friday if that is okay... I'm running a tad lean on time.

Also for those who're starting subdivisions and developments, if you can or know someone who can bat, I encourage you to make subdivision lables that're found on the main road right before you enter the subdivision, I will add them to your subdivision this way we can have a unique feel...

Depends on how many tiles... They cost 2 Points per tile innitially. Then 2 Points per tile + 2 points per 50 passengers on a real life monthly basis afterward... I'll give you half price of the total since it's custom.

so, if i understand this correctly, a 4x3 ferry station (which I think is the size of peg's ferry) will cost 12 to build (4x3 @ 2 pts each is 24, with the custom discount is 12). if, for instance, 1000 Sims use this ferry, then every GAME month I get 32 pts (12 for station size and 20 from passengers, 1000/50 = 20). every REAL month, I must pay 64 (double the amount I make every game month). sounds odd to me. its only profitable when u play more than 2 game months in a real month, which isnt a lot. still, building 2 stations will take out a lot of my points, and I dont want that. I need to set up a good income source first...

can I get traffic data on ur bridges. I think I might want to set up a toll, but I want a good spot. Also, prices would be good. Its not Maxis tolls either.

an update for points would also be good. i want to know how much I have to work with. as you can see im taking this all quite seriously.

You actually brought up a VERY good point...

I will not be deducting points at the end of August or September

Also if I see a situation coming in which players will unfairly be unable to gain points due to a falicy in the run time (3 game months or less) - No points will be deducted for that month aswell!

The CJ Timeline hasn't really begun yet. Everything that was posted was to make up for the months of my biulding this city - as in while I was contemplating making this CJ, I was also biulding the city only I wasn't able to display it until recently...

As for the traffic querries and bridge tolling, you'll have to purchase rights to the bridge before you can add a toll to it as it's still city property however when it is owned and maintained by you, then you can toll it, upgrade it, whatever you wish...  Are you interested in purchasing a bridge?

Looks like I picked the wrong days to pack and move into my new dorm... this thing is really rollin' now.

I am hereby authorizing construction of Lina Park to commence. I would like to maintain blank tiles where indicated in order to be prepared when bus service reaches this area, but the remainder of the project, including parks, should begin as soon as is convenient. I'll be there with my gold shovel to break ground. 4.gif
