I am trying to download maps from SCT and I was wondering what is the process? Do I right click on download or the maps to save the file. Thanks.

If it's the STEX, you right click on the grayscale image, and save to disk. The config.bmp, download.

If the grayscale.jpg is the default size, 1025x1025 pixels, then you can let the game supply one, if want to settle for whatever the city sizes are.  If you don't copy a config file to the region folder, then the game uses a random 16x16 pixel.

If you want to choose the city sizes, then you can make one with MS Paint, or any image editor, or drawing program.

These are the details:

grayscale to config.bmp ratio :
64:1 plus 1

config.bmp file:
Large city = 4x4 pixels  blue
Medium city = 2x2 pixels  green
Small city = 1x1 pixels  red

I don't think money comes with a map. That must have been a money lot, or a cheat mod. I use the 1x1 Click for Cash lot from the STEX, if I use one.

there are also mods that have you star with maximum money. that might have been it

yes, I think that was it sscc4k. I remember the cities were already named (generic) and they had max money. I don't recall seeing on SCT but another site that I can't find right now. Maybe I should post a new thread asking to peoples SC sites that they visit (not trying to step on this sites toes). Cheers.
