It depends on how you want them to look or be used??

I use mine to add a feature to cities either in small or grand scale. What exactly do you want them for??

Sometimes after downloading something with alot of pieces I start a city in the middle of nowhere and just play around with the pieces and then exit without saving.

Use the End key to rotate the lots.

That's the only answer you need.

Well for starters, there are 3 kinds of canals availible by 3 different people. Oppie's canal set is more Dutch, like you would find in Amsterdam. Simgoober's canals are more for the southern European type. I've also seen them used in more industrial settings. Pegaus's canals are very grimy and industrial, but can also be used for beatification purposes, and IMHO, are the most versatile of the three. You can use the home/end keys to rotate canal sections.

I have the complete oppie-canal set (straight, narrow, diagonal, curve, barge, and bridges). I simply grab an empty city and start playing around. If I start running out of money, I exit the city without saving and open it back up and try again.

My particular favorite is to place landmarks in the middle of canal-made islands. Using the tunnel sections back to back creates a pedestrian bridge. Wish I was home right now, I'd make you a picture. But basically, experiment a lot and don't save. Then go implement those experiments in your saved cities.

Make sure the land is flat, use canal locks to change levels of canals, I'm pretty sure all canals are just eyecandy too.

Wow! You Have diagonals, narrow and curves of the oppie set? Could you tell me where  to find those since I would really like to have diagonal canals 9.gif PLLLLZ Tell me?

Also, doe anyone know where I can find the locks for oppie's canals that lets one build stages in the canals ( I can only find the canal to water locks on STEX)

Thx to anyone that can give me an answer! I love canals, eventhough they are just eye candy. They help make my city feel more realistic and make it more beautiful 4.gif

Hi. Don't know if this problem is just mine, but I can't seem to be able to plop canal pieces continously without having to go back into the menu each time to select it again. Very time consuming. Is this what everyone does? It means building a canal seems to take forever!! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

As for my other question, I realised it's the menu management mod that is causing me not to be able to plop consecutive lots. Guess I'll just delete the relevant plugin file.
