Window mode not working

I went to my SimCity 4 shortcut and changed the target field to this:

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\SimCity 4.exe" -window -r800x600x16

My computer is running on 1152 x 864 and yet when I run the game, it runs in 800x600 fullscreen mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Your command line is mostly OK, just take out the indow after the -w.

Or, you could use full screen mode, by following the link in my signature. 2.gif

Unless theres a specific reason you want windowed mode..

I am having this problem too. I know how command lines work, my current shortcut points at;

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -w -intro43.gifff

The introduction movies are skipped as promised, but no sniff of a window, it is full screen all the way.

This is SimCity 4 Deluxe, updated to the latest patch. I am running Windows Vista (Ultimate) with SP1.

You probably are using a newer pc with "widescreen" or other larger or odd format.. add the customn resolution tag to your shortcut.

1600x1200 was in the programmes default list, but even with a custom resolution (any and all I have tried, regular square resolutions as well as wide ones) it still runs in fullscreen.
