Introduction

On an island far from mainland, a small village grew from the ground. It got the name Newsron, but let's refer to it as Old Newsron. It had a highly cruel leader, who ruled with an iron fist. The city had poor residential huts next to the industry and a coal power plant to top it off!

OldNewsron1.jpg

But, then again the cruel ruler gave them absolutely no rights, so some decided to fight back. It all started at the coal plant. A fire broke out, and everyone fled. This fire wasn't accidental. It was the first act of a rebellion.

OldNewsron2.jpg

It spread, and soon the power plant collapsed, creating a huge crater in the ground. Soon, loads of industrial buildings were burnt to the ground, and every other building was heavily burnt. The city of Old Newsron was destroyed.

OldNewsron3.jpg

There was only one problem. Not everyone wanted to rebel against their leader. Not all of them wanted to go on strike, so when they lost their homes, they were enraged. They formed a group that swore to destroy the rebellion that destroyed their hometown, so they joined their leader who never really gave his name out. Meanwhile, the rebellion left the destroyed city, and out into the deep woods, which nobody of Old Newsron dared to entered. The group consisted of forty people, and the group that swore to destroy them had 23. The rebellion hiked for hours until it got late so they had to set up fire. Too bad they forgot some tools, 'cause they really could use 'em to cut down some trees their fire relied on deadwood, and they couldn't make any cabins. they slept on the forest floor with their sleeping bags they had been carrying the entire trip and cared fort so much. A little boy named Charlie nearly lost his to a racoon had his mom not stepped in! So, anyway, the small group of people rested on the forest floor, preparing for the next day. A few sayed up, writing in their journals, others tryed fixing some items into tools, but there wasn't any flint to use.

nice intro! i cant wait to see how things go with this, but a lil advice, try to keep your industry with other industry, dont drop an industrial tile in the midst of a residential area or commercial area, unless if you can think of creative ways to make it look good! 4.gif

Thanks for commenting on the intro! Expect even more updates of that quality, or even better ones! Well, I see your point about the industry, but then again, there's history that comes with building. You see, that building is called Newsron Mining and Smelting Facility. It was place there because the surveyors found the area to be rich in bronze and iron, so they put it there in order for production times to shorten so it could get to their policing unit, known as the E.P.S, which stood for Emporer's Policing Service. Those officers were nicknamed Opressive Ops, because of their constant guarding. The iron that came from the place was also used for tools such as hammers, axes for woodcutting, and even machines themself.

The rebellion indeed is here! I think you can really understand why they went against the leader. I think that a little story on how it was formed won't hurt. It all started when a guy named James Thrakjec got sick and tired of the Emporer who was leading them all, and came up with countless plots against him, most which never succeeded and was usually branded for, giving him the nickname 'Brandy'. He finally got his friends in on his ideas, but he wound up getting them branded for treason, just like he did. Luckily, his braveness and his excellent leadership kept his all of his friends's undying loyalty, besides the punishments. So, one day he got tired of it all more than usual. He began passing out matches, and the torching began.

'Tis a revolution indeed! What the rebellions want it to be is a revolution of rights, a revolution of freedom, and a revolution of change. Expect loads of changes to be installed for it. Sorry I couldn't make this reply longer like the previous two!

I guess they are pretty interesting! They really will make Newsron Island a better place to live. It'll get even more interesting when things get pretty desperate, and thanks for calling it neat! P.S, the rebellion will make a huge discovery, that will change the world as they know it.

    cowboy[texas]
Indeed they do. With a disaster that left their city in ruins, there two groups. One is for freedom, rights and democracy, the other is for power, how Newsron island used to be, and to make sure the traitors of the rebellion get exile on a raft into the endless sea. Scary, eh?

Sorry for the sudden lack of posts, Ioads of stuff has been keeping me from it (like tinkering with stuff on gmax), so I haven't been able to update. Now I can. Anyways, let's get to the story, shall we?

    Chapter One: Finding a Way

Last time we checked it was a quite and calm night. The next morning the group of 43 woke to the blazing sun. They had managed to create a fire that lasted all night, but now it had burnt out due to a lack of fuel.

    Newsron-Travelling2.jpg

Out of the sleeping bags crawled out the 43 people, waiting to go hiking. Before they were going to get ready, James Thrakjec, their leader told them, "I wouldn't go further if I were you." The group was puzzled with his declarment. "Why?" asked a random villager. "If we stay here we're never going to find a place with a good supply of food and water!" The group started to protest to his decision. "The further we venture out there the further we get from the city." Their leader replied.

"Why would we want to go back there?"

"We're going to get some tools from the remains; maybe even some parts of collapsed buildings to create shelters to protect us from rain."

So then, the group understood. A few hours later, James sent out a group to get some the remains. He was part of it. Due to the fact their leader was away, before he left he said that they should look for some food to eat. Meanwhile, the group trudged towards the ruins. They knew their way back now; they had already gone through it! In a few hours, they arrived.

    OldNewsron4.jpg

They decided to gather 20 sheets of metal. Luckily, they were aluminum, henceforth they we're easy to carry around. On top of those they put 5 axes, 30 meters worth of rope (coiled up of couse!), 15 wooden boards, untouched by the fire, and to top it off 10 pots.

Once they had returned to the camp, they saw a nice stock pile of wild cherries, elderberries, and wild strawberries. James let a wide grin appear on his face.

Now, here's another update on how the rebellion is doing. At this point, the group of forty people finds itself setting up their camp to bhave even better living conditions. Before, they slept on the muddy, bug infested, dirty forest floor. Or atleast they're sleeping bags went there. If it rained, it would get all over them. Now, that worry was gone. Previously a small group returned to the ruins of Old Newsron to raid it of salvage. They didn't get alot of stuff, but nonetheless it was enough to give them the chance to build a tower.

    Newsron-Travelling3.jpg

Built from logs, clay, and a few planks of wood, the building stood as a milestone of their progress.  They're leader (I'll just call him James- I don't like his last name.) knew the dangers of the people who were against him, Henceforth, he ordered some people to put plants on the roofing so it couldn't be spotted by their enemies. The building served as an area for most people to sleep. They would take turns sleeping in it, in groups of 5. The rest slept under sheets of metal hanging over them. The metal was suspended by a rope.

    MetalSleepingArea-Newsron.jpg

It wasn't Buckingham Palace, but it was good enough for the group. As long as they had they're freedom, they would stay with the rebellion.  The group also put those pots to good use. They built pyres and placed to pot on top. Underneath the pots were fires. They would boiled to salt out of the seawater they collected, removed the salt, and waited for the water to condense so it was freshwater. So, as you can tell, the group was growing succesfully, getting a bit prosperous, but overall not forgetting to keep democracy and freedom.

Sorry for not posting much lately, I wound up going camping. Anyway, seeing the fat pile of replies, I think I should answer them.

Glad you like it! Didn't take much time for me to make the banner on the top, but the intro did!

    schulmanator

    Good idea!

    mikeaut1

Well, they aren't actually going to rebuild Old Newsron. No, rather than that, they'll create their own city, and call it Newsron City. They've already named their group, calling it The Rebellion to Create Democracy.

    yoshikoroyimara

    Okay, got it!

    2nerdy4u

I wonder too! I'll tell you this, the update of his story will be coming soon!

    penguin007

Yes, it indeed would, but then again, through the thick forestry, a very small amount of reflection would escape through. Plus, the metal was worn and tarnished, so it wouldn't reflect alot. P.S, it is indeed basic and primitive.

    jacqulina

Thanks! It's good to know that you like it!

Now... the replies are done. It's time to get back to the story!

Last time, the group was prosperous, with a large stockpile of berries. Now, the berries had been eaten up, the group was full, and they left the juices all over their faces. Now, they had gotten pretty thirsty. So, they drank from the pots filled with now freshwater. It was freshwater, but it just didn't quench their thirst. They needed more of it. 8 pots of water would keep them alive, that was for sure, but contently watered, no sir. So, James decided to send out a party to explore the land that them and their ancestors lived in 156 years, but still hadn't the slightest clue what it looked like in whole. Here's two pictures, one showing the map labeled, the other just plain.

    NewsronIslandMap1.jpg

    NewsronIslandMap2.jpg

Anyway, he told them rush back if they found something. After a long time of exploring and taking notes, they did. The party returned, mosquito ridden and tired, saying they found a wonderful area which already had freshwater (James said that it's called a lake) in it. The group left the camp to follow them back. Over there they found the wonderous landform they had found... and their enemies right infront of it, with smug grins on thier faces.

    Stay tuned!

Just brilliant, the creativity of the the story is awesome. You've really thrown down the gauntlet for those out here who are new to this....

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

    Chapter Two: Discovery

Well, as you can you could tell from the last update, they had been lead into a trap by a group of traitors. Because of this, the famous line came from James.

    ackbar.jpg

Soon, everyone was scrambling to run away from the Emporer and his policing unit, but alas, it was completely useless. Soon, they had all been rounded up after a wild goosechase. Really, they knew what they'd be charged with. Abandoning service. Encouraging lawbreaking. Treason. The thought of it made James shudder. But what could they do? Nobody in the group felt the same trust and comfort they had before. People were scared all the way through, because they knew the charges for treason. By midnight they'd be sent out into the endless sea, never to be heard of again. The day was long, which to the rebellion was good, but to the group against them, it wasn't. They were being kept guard on by 5 guards, to keep them all in line. Soon, the sun fell to go under where it could be seen, and with the sun, the rebelion's hope went with it. Soon, it was time. James looked out to the sea. It looked dark and unforgiving.

    Night.jpg

Soon, they were loaded onto their rafts, ready to face long hot days without the comfort of their camp, water, shade, or food. What the rafts looked like is shown below.
