cool, this is great, it looks realy much like amsterdam! especialy the many one way roads 3.gif. Although i don't like artis, you made it beautiful. There are only 2 minor things that aren't right: the ships in the canals are to big, but i don't know if there are any smaller ones on the stex, and amsterdam hasn't got sunken highways, but mostly elevated highways and ground highways. I couldn't find any good highwaypictures for you.

Wow, you're doing a great job! I'm from the netherlands and I've been to Amsterdam many times. You managed torecreate the blocks of houses very nicely.

I have to agree with one of the above commentors about the highways and main roads. I've never seen those in Amsterdam. I id take some time to find some images for you that might come in handy. Let me know what you think! 4.gif

The first one is a picture of the way the highways, main roads and railroads are layed out in the city. The larger blue bits on the railroad are the stations of amsterdam. When you type in the names in google of the stations, you should be able to find some images. The same goes for the Highwaynumbers:

The second one is of the metro/sneltram (subway which is actually mostly above ground) The light blue line (52) is the north-south line which is currently be

@FissileBread: I really like your CJ, and thanks for using my Montelbaans tower.

I live in Amsterdam and it's not perfect but I wouldn't be able to make this in Sim City because of the angeled roads and messed-up scale of SC4.

About the Artis zoo, the canal in the middle is actually a left- over from the Niewe Prinsengracht canal. That one looks pretty realistic!

@dscampbell: The pink line (26) is actually a tram line, called the IJ tram.

@TatooedMilionaire: Thnx, I didn't know that. Just search some info about it. Too bad they didn't deside to do a metro there. I think the Amsterdam metronetwork could do with some more expantsion 2.gif

Along my search I found another pic of the trams and metro that might help make this CJ more realistic:

And the best one yet, this is an actual GVB (Gemeentelijk Vervoersbedrijf) map:

I hope to see more of Amsterdam soon 9.gif

tot ziens!

I'm not sure about the pink line, but I guess that's a future plan aswell.

quote>

It doest exist already. It's the newest tramline from central station to IJburg. Line 26. It is something in between a normal tramline and a subway (above ground).

Loerelau

The NS train download used to be on the stex. hmm I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to group all the dutch downloads in one or more packs and do the same for the french (paris) ones, the berlin, english, and so on, for ppl that want to get all relevant downloads they need for a theme. Does anyone know where such a plan could be suggested?

If my city looked like that.....drool......Maybe if we are ever able to create larger city tiles I could create a city large enough to have a district like that. Are you using the Amsterdam Central Train Station? I do have that in my city. How did you get the boats in the canals, what canals were you using, is it possible to get those sidewalks without changing my whole city to using those, did you plop or grow those buildings, if you grew them how did you regulate the style, where did you get them, could you provide a link to that GLR avenue station, and will you upload your region to Simtrop? Thanks44.gif.

@Spartan: There are many buildings on the STEX search for AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND or Van der Raap or JENX and you'll find them. Most of them are growable and they work pretty well, but some tend to act like weed in that they grow so often they turn into standard massproduced rowhomes. Some demolitioning will help against that though 4.gif

I wonder how you are going to make Zeeburg or Oostelijk Havengebied. It's a quite modern part of the city and I live there.

It's the red part

On this site there's a lot of information.. and you can view the site in English..

Hey guys, I hope I haven't let too many of you down...

I was away for the past while and I've been super busy. Also my plugins folder has become very messy. It will take A LOT of work to get amsterdam running without any ugle brown boxes.

Some additional areas of the city have been created, like the Dam square and the Central Station, but I don't think I'll have much time to start constructing more areas soon. I just need to get my plugins folder up and running and I might post some more pics of the city.

Thanks for the support guys. I especially like those sites. I'll try and get together an update as soon as possible.
