As you can tell from the large number of replies you are doing an amazing job in recreating the feel of Amsterdam, even if you can't be totally accurate. The things that you have done to get this right: great use of GLR for the ubiquitous trams, beautifully done canals, and excellent choice in buldings. Really impressive stuff, and I can't wait to see more.

Amazing recreation.

The small details make the difference: the GLR, the brick sidewalks, the parked cars. Nicely done.

Much better Amsterdam than usually. Usually people just plop SG's canals and some dutch bats and says that's Amsterdam. Waiting the Red Light district.

Not all recreations capture the real atmosphere of a city, but this one is doing pretty well so far. I like those darkened pictures.19.gif (Ben benieuwd hoe je de Dam gaat maken.)

C0ckatoo-210893: Hey, thanks for commenting again! I’m glad you like the glr, I just wish all the pieces had brick base textures, instead of just the 1x1 straight section!

Odd from Sweden: No, I have never used the reader before, I will try and use it and see if I am able to change the stats. You’re right about some of the vanderaap buildings, they growing like crazy! Thanks for the advice, hope to see you again1.gif!

Tomdapom: I’m glad you like it tomdapom! Thanks for commenting!

Jayo: Thanks jayo, for coming back! I’m glad you enjoyed the update!

Koekie01: Thanks koekie! I am will try my best to recreate some of those neighbourhoods although I’m not sure about some of them42.gif… concerning the arenA, I wish that the exact replica bat that was being featured in a stadium thread a while ago was actually released, however, it never made its way onto the STEX. I guess I’ll have to use another stadium instead…any suggestions?

Collgab: Hey collgab, thanks for dropping by!

Jacqulina: Hey Jacqulina! Yes, it’s unfortunate there are no houseboats available. I’m glad to hear you use the same terraforming techniques, as your landscapes are stunningly beautiful4.gif!

Homeandaway: Thanks for commenting! I know there are no yachts lol, but unfortunately those were some of the only boats available15.gif.

Mr. Beer: Thanks for checking out my CJ, David! I’m glad you like it!

SoNell: lol, I don’t speak dutch, but the fact that you are replying in dutch means a lot to me! I hope you keep replying in dutch! dank u mijn vriend! (I used babelfish)9.gif

    suplado!: Thanks for commenting, suplado!

Benedict: Thanks for the comment! That really is my goal, to recreate the feel of the city. I’m glad you like it1.gif!

SimsPlanet2: Thanks for checking out my CJ simsplanet! I don’t speak dutch, lol, but that’s ok, its really cool that people are replying in dutch, and I really hope you keep replying in dutch! dank u mijn vriend! (I used babelfish)9.gif

Hanson784: Thanks for commenting Hanson! I’m glad you enjoyed the update!

Crazyyaya: Thanks for coming back! I’m happy that you like my CJ1.gif!

BlondeTwiggy: Hi BlondeTwiggy, thanks for the comment once again1.gif! I like the first pic too, I turned down the brightness a little for that one. I grow most of my buildings, and the result is a lot of querying, making historicaling, and demolishing, in order to get my buildings right32.gif2.gif.

Krio: Thanks Krio! I haven’t seen other people’s Amsterdams, but I’m happy you like mine!

Mikeaut1: Thanks! I look forward to seeing you again!

penguin007: Hey Will! I’m happy to hear that it looks like Amsterdam! Thanks!

Johan_91: Thanks Johan! I appreciate your support!

JanYpe: lol, another dutch comment! I love these! I don’t speak dutch, but the act of you replying in dutch is really special! I hope you continue to do so! Het damvierkant is reeds gemaakt, spoedig gezocht het! (I hope there aren’t too many mistakes, I used babelfish)9.gif

Update: Artis - A Cultural Zoo

    pic3ei3.jpg

Artis, the oldest zoo in the Netherlands was founded in 1838. The many visitors enjoy the 19th-century atmosphere of the gardens: the winding paths and majestic trees. Artis is a haven of peace and quiet right in the city centre of Amsterdam.

    pic4ga6.jpg

Artis is a fascinating zoo. In an area of 14 hectares around 700 species provide a magnificent overview of the entire animal kingdom. Amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, mammals and insects... all are superbly represented. Artis' renowned aquarium reveals the secret life of Amsterdam's canals!

    pic1id8.jpg

Around the zoo, many more Dutch and European animal and plant species can be found, as well as more exotic ones.

    pic6ya1.jpg

Visitors can also come to quench their thirst for knowledge at the Planetarium, the museums, and all kinds of smaller exhibitions. The also exists an exciting African Safari Exibihit, which surrounds the main visitor’s building.

    pic5hw0.jpg

The entrpotdok industrial canal to the north, and picturesque Amsterdam neighbourhoods to the east, west, and south flank Artis. The Plantage Middenlaan avenue provides easy access to the zoo.

    pic2pw5.jpg

The Artis Zoo is still as enchanting as it was nearly two centuries ago. Not only is Artis an oasis of peace right at the heart of a fast-paced city, but it is also a haven for several animal species and tree varieties, many on the verge of extinction.

Finally, here is the location of Artis on the region map:

That concludes my update! Hope you like it and please comment!

Thanks to all who have commented so far, your feedback means so much to me!!! I greatly appreciate your support!!!

    AMAZING update again 44.gif!

Do you come from The Netherlands, because I thought that. When you're not, I get you don't know some of that neighbourhoods. Good replacements for the Arena are:

The New Anfield Stadium AKA Stanley Park (Liverpool): https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=16765

    Stade de France:

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=11426

    Dmscopio Stadium:

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=17614

    Shanghai Stadium:

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=17317

I like the first one the most, but I think the Shanghai Stadium the best replacer for the ArenA is.

Hope you have a idea now 4.gif.

PM if you need some information about Amsterdam, about the city, not about Batting etc. 12.gif.

    Take care and be safe,

    Koekie
