Is this the first time this has ever happened?

None the less, it's interesting to hear this. Not sure if I'd call him a spy, but I certainly would say what he did was treason. This guy was stealing information from a nuclear plant built in the 40s which I'm not saying the plant is old or the technology used there is outdated; however, it would have worried me if he stole information from the new ones being built in America. Although we don't catch all of them, people these days can be so stupid to actually believe they can steal things and get away with it. People, this is the 21st century and get used to it.

Well, I doubt that anything he could have gotten his hands on was really secret.  But he clearly broke the Official Secrets Act, and if convicted to dealing with foreign governments, is a spy.  I don't know what the U.S. does with spies in time of "peace", but the Rosenbergs got the chair.
