Personally, I'm getting tired of all those people in the chatroom or on the site that constantly badmouth America. I know we aren't people's favorite country, but that's in real life. People in the chat constantly say bad things about us, they say that their country is better, has better stuff, less crime, whatever they can think of, but when I retailate, I end up getting banned for a week. There is a rule about not insulting other people's countries, so why is it only enforced when members of the US insult somebody else? This rule should be enforced more, because I'm tired of seeing my country badmouthed just because of the stupid people that rule it, we're not all like that, you can't judge an entire country of over 300 million people by the few that run it, just like we can't to England. I would just really like to not have to try staying out of the chatroom until later in the night, when the majority turns to people from the US and I don't have to listen to rants about how bad and stupid we are.

Well, how are they "bad-mouthing"? You should give an example. Criticizing foreign or domestic policy isn't badmouthing.

Yes, I'm a United States resident. You'd also be surprised at how upset people get when you refer to the US as "America," as if Canada, Mexico, Brazil, etc., aren't American nations.

Edit: And to say that a country has a better service is NOT an insult. It's a statement of fact.

Interchange: If they insult you or your country just try to keep away from them, and report them to the moderators. Take a screenshot as proof and sent it to mods. I personally don't care what crap they say about me, my country or my stuff, i just let it go.

I agree w/SimRabbit, let the mods take care of it. I too am tired of this, but yeah...it's against the rules, like you said, so let someone who can enforce the rules, enforce them.

In the meantime, ignore the people who are doing it - Their bashing just shows their true character (or lack thereof).

I support anything that limits free speech in the name of America. This "free speech" thing is nothing but trouble. All it does is increase conflict and turn everyday citizens into terrorists. Down with free speech, where ever it may be!

Garek I think that was a little out of line to say that free speech is turning everyday citizens into terrorists. Just because some people don't know how to excercise their right of free speech doesn't mean that it is a terrible thing that should be taken away from all countries that support it. I especially don't understand your logic on saying that.. free speech isn't the reason why "everyday citizens turn into terrorists" its more because of the lack of freespeech that drives people to do terrible acts of terrorism.

And I agree I think that bashing on the United States is getting a little out of hand but just ignore it and let the moderators deal with it.

Sarcasm aside, ANY country bashing whatsoever is against the rules, especially noted by the Current Event rules. If you see this occuring, report it. Don't try to take revenge by bashing them and their country as well; let the moderators and adminstrators handle it.

Bashing or Flaming is not accepted in any form here.  If you have specific issues report them please!  That is what we are here for.  If you do not, please do not start a thread like this because it will only start a fight.  The only responses you will get is "you are right!" or "that is bull!" and neither helps your case. 

Everyone please remember that the people on this website are from a wide range of age groups, countries, and social dynamics.  The only way we coexist is by respecting each other in both our similarities and differences.  Those who do not will not be tolerated here!

Just want to point out that there is a difference between comparing two countries for informational reasons and/or fun,  and bashing another country with the intention of insulting the residents of that country. The first one is acceptable here on ST,  while the second one is absolutely against the rules.  Anyone not mature enough to see the difference between the two should refrain from taking part in those sorts of conversations, or they will be dealt with accordingly.

As others have said, if anyone sees someone breaking that rule (or any rule) and would like to do something about it, the best thing to do is report the incident to a moderator.

Anyway I agree with Marc... enough has been said on the issue so
