Installing lot files

I recently began instaling lot files into my simcity 4 plugins folder. When I start the agme I can access them from the menu bar, but each one that I place in my city displays the same thing, which is a box wrapped in brown paper tied with twine displaying simicty or something like that on the side. Any suggestions?

The readme that comes with, or at the download site, should list the dependencies you need. If you don't have some of those you will get the "brown box".

Most of the files are from this site, like the NAM and BikePath so I'm pretty sure they should work.

Ah, this is an issue where it doesn't matter whether you're a Mac user or a Windows user.  We're all in the same boat here.
