    Thanks for reading the post.

I am experiencing a weird problem. The residential average income fluctuate  very greatly and in same pattern.  It began  when the city size reached 300k and continue to decrease, as same as the picture shown below. Eventually, I think the RCI value begin to be affected by the trend of average income. For instance, The R$$$ drop from +3000~4000 to below  0 while R$ rise from +3000 to +6000.

Could you tell me why there is such a weird phenomenon and how to cope with the problem?

Actually, I am a so-called new player of the game (Deluxe version). The thing I want is to build a healthy city with more than a million population. Therefore, I have installed several plugin comprise of money tree, NetworkAddon (after > 500000pp for residential size), Transit supermod v2.0 (after>100000pp, so I don't think it would affect) and radical suer park.

Apart from the plugin installed, there is something interesting that I never experience before. The commercial service $$$ is extraordinary high. There are 120000 pp work in this category with only 65000 R$$$. Other information of the city: R$=R$$~340000pp, HT~30000, The main traffic medium is car, followed by bus and pedestrian.

As the trend of average income persists, I started to hesitate whether it is a problem caused by my computer. I also wonder if the great fall take place after restarting the game. My PC is very old (4years), maybe it cannot stand for holding such a great city. The component of my PC are: P4 2.0G, 768MB ram, 60GB(7200wpm),64mb display.

Would the problem can be solved? I don't want the city to build into a slum. Plz help me!

RonaldWong: First the CS$$$ number won't relate to the R$$$, because commercial gets a lot of it's business from out of the city. I am not sure how any of the jobs, or demand actually relate to the residential population.

I think you might have some sort of deficency, as the income looks like just above 10 grand, that's pretty low.

There are several reasons the income average might drop. It is related to the R wealth population ratio. If you let the trash build up for instance you will lose the high wealth residents. If you don't keep the civic's, water, etc funded, and supplied you will lose the them also. High wealth seems to move in right away, and then don't stay employed so the lower wealth move in, and if you notice a building has more low wealth sims than the higher wealth. That combined will really lower the average.

There just isn't a simple answer to the question. As the city gets older, and you keep things up to par, the higher wealth will move back, if that is what you want.

I don't use any cheats to help raise the population, I have got close to a million, but what happens is the high wealth move in and lower the population. I am working now on a region with all large cities, trying to get over that 1mil mark. I am not making cities with all residential, but with all the RCI's. I guess if you made a neighborhood region with a city with all residential it would be easier to get that number.

I kinda got side tracked here.

I have this problem in my biggest cities ,av income in New Ark about 2 k , The game divides the No of jobs in a city between the No of residences to get average wage , so if you have 4 million high wealth sims in a city , but they commmute to a neighbour city to work , your cities average income will plummet . Dont worry about it it doesnt seem to effect the game ,put more jobs in your city if it worries you and the level will rise .Like wise if you have a city with many more HT jobs than sims your av income will be 90k . Average income doesnt work well when sims start to commute to differant cities in huge numbers .

thanks alot. They do help me very much as they can explain almost everything.

Actually, it should have a huge population commute to other cities coz there are 2 neighbour cities comprise of more than 400k pp. There are also 2 rural cities nearby with more than 150k in average wage.
