Wierd bug(?) while doing Tutorial

Hi,

Recently I started playing SC4 again, now using addons 'n everything (never used to use them, just tried to build big citys, now I try to beautify them also)

I tried to do the Sunken Highway tutorial, it did not quite look like the finished product as it looked like in the tutorial though.

Pictures:

As you can see, the walls seem to disappear in the grass.. I downloaded NAM as well as the dig dig mod that needed to be used and I followed the tutorial step by step, but still it did not quite work as it did in the tutorial.

Is anyone familiar with this problem?

Some specs:

SimCity 4 Deluxe

Tried with and without newest update

Clean installs, no other addons were installed

Intel Pentium M 2.0Ghz

Ati X600 Mobile

Tried with hardware accelerated and software accelerated

1024x768 windowed / fullscreen

Tnx in advance!

The lot you are using has an offset prop, I think. Those, and lots like the ped malls in NAM don't cover on a diagonal. I can't tell from the image if that is what you have. Also most of the embankment lots need to have the terrain level.

You may already have this from the tutorial, I have not seen it.

I used everything the creator of the tutorial showed you needed to use, and I used it they way it was told, so that is probably not the problem 4.gif

Press g. It'll show if the terrain is completely flat.

I am sure it is, I flattened using roads and I used the dig mod that was used in the tutorial

When I do work like that, I place the single tile roads above before I do the sunken part. That way you get a nice clean level cut. It will level the top after the sunken part, but it may not make the slope nice and even. You also might try the placing the wall before the puzzle piece, as the puzzle piece might deform the slope. That looks like what is happening, the slope is deforming, which will hide the offset lot.

I am sure the area is flat, and I tried placing the wall before the puzzle piece but that did not work for me either

I was going to suggest that since you have knowledge of the process, that you try some alternatives. It is not always easy to layout a tutorial, it is easy to leave something out, or get it in the wrong order.
