It seems as though no one has put much thought into what type of music will be in the game. Do you think the music will change depending on where you are in the city? For example it will be "candy land" music in the gingerbread house section of town and in the Obedience part of town it would play depressing music?

The obedience part shouldn't be depressing, it should be martial and other "for the fatherland" type military themed music. Think the Russian Red Army Choir singing the Soviet anthem. Candyland music...lord only knows and I dare not even speculate lest it be something else juvenile to take away from what little respect I have left for the admittedly interesting societal energy notion. They're just going about implementing it entirely wrong and taking it to absurdly immature and ridiculous levels. Zombies? Cryo Prisons? Candy cane lights? It could be done without all that pablum and still have a realistic transit model, and all the other interesting SC1 to SC4 traditions.

Music has never been that important in SimCity... although SC4 has some good tracks.

I would be more worried about the zombie sound effects.

Some of the music can be heard in the SCS video.

Some of the remixed music from SC3000 (Or was it straight from the game? I don't remember...) Anyway, it sounded really pretty good. Had the usual mish mash of jazzy tunes and almost new age sounding pieces. SC4 wasn't bad either, just has a different "feel" to the music. Doesn't seem to have the same upbeat jazzy tunes that sound a bit stereotypically "city like".

I only hope that SC5 has some good music. Doesn't really matter what kind, just nice quality that doesn't get annoying after playing it for a day. 3.gif

I kinda perfer SC3000's music--it was catchy and up-beat. Hopefulle SCS will try to do that.

I may be the only person who feels this way but I think that Simcity for the SNES had the best music even though it was only about five tunes.
