Ok heres the deal... I installed NAM, installed the euroroad mod ie converting the standard road textures to european style and also added those bus stops that you can build on top of roads instead of taking up a whole tyle making it rather annoying to build around not to mention unrealistic. Ok as you can see from the picture, thats the city i quickly built for the purpouse of accumilate a lot of cash quickly so that I can build what I really want without worrying about money. if youre interested, its earning around 2500 per month which is nothing spectacular but good enough as Im already over a mil in a few mins... anyway, as this is a city that I am going to destroy anyway, I thought that I might as well test a few things... namely the new stuff that I've been d/l... so I went on to try the new bus stops. 1st problem was that they unfortunately dont work very well with the new NAM turn offs as they only cover 1 block and the road markings obviously take up more than that but thats ok... that can be easily fixed by using the dual sqare version with the straddled bus stops. But heres the main problem... as you can see from where the arrow is pointing, that is how the commute time changed when I placed the bus stops in the circled areas (and probably a few more that I didnt notice but you get the picture I hope). I have no idea why this occured. The setting that I included when installing NAM were... "Perfect Pathfinding"... and with the setting for the bus stop it had 4, namely standard one (non NAM version) and 3 NAM ones, standard, x2 and x5... Im guessing the adverse change in the commute time was a result of me selecting the improper setting for the NAM ones but I'm not sure which one of the 3 the NAM "Perfect Pathfinding" has for me to select the setting for the bus stop coz atm I have it as standard. Either way I tried teh x2 one and there was no change. So I have no idea what going on. The other thing thats worrying me... I cant remember what the commute time was before I installed NAM as I never really tested it with that city, but I suspect 20 mins seems a bit long for a city like that! Any ideas?

Ive also realised another thing... I have no more traffic... no cars no pedestrians nothing!... whats going on? never mind... fixed that!

Ahh...I can't see any pictures. I don't know if I'll understand what you're trying to ask until they appear...

And 20 mins. isn't so long for commute time. Really, you don't have to worry about commute until your buildings start abandoning because of it, and even then commute time is the cause of it only half the time...

Which  version of Road Top Mass Transit did you download?  It could be they're not transit enabled to be compatible with the NAM's left hand switch.  If this isn't the case the only other thing I can think of is the capacity is too low for the stops, which slows down commute time.

By the looks of it you're using several streets.  You also said that you were expanding the city quite rapidly.  The more a city grows, the more crowded the streets/roads get, and the longer the commute time.  If you think you want to countinue with this city for a long time you should soon consider upgrading your transit network (avenues, highway, rail,etc.).  If this is just a "sandbox" (test city) however,  I wouldn't bother. Hope this helps!9.gif

Well, I you only have perfect pathfinding installed from Nam, 20 minutes in simcity is very short.  Without Nam, some of My cities would go up to 200 min... now that was long.  You have to remember that simcity is completely unrealistic.  Have you checked your traffic?  I think that the commute time goes up if there is some heavy traffic.  Can't really think of anything else...

Not a single road or streeet is even yellow. Im just surprised that the commute time has gone up!... the only thing that ive thought of was that walking and taking a bus takes longer than driving and the only time that the commute time will go down is if theres serious traffic problems which as a result of bus stops are reduced thus reducing the commute time.

Next time you have a problem, start your own topic.  Use the New Topic button on the command bar above.

Now, it doesn't matter what operating system you are on, you should set the download routine in IE to always ask where to put your download.

If you moved a download into \\Documents\Simcity 4\Plugins and it is a file type .zip, that is the wrong place for this type of file.  These downloads should be kept in a separate Downloads folder away from the game, and you should have a sub-folder for each city from which you download.

So, create a Downloads folder, for example, on your Desktop, and a sub-folder in it named Simtropolis.  Move the zip file into the Simtropolis sub-folder.  At this point, you need to unpack the folder.  If Vista won't give you an option for this, you need more software.  I suggest WinRAR, which will unpack most archives of this type.  Here is a link.
