Rural mayor needs help!

Hello fellow mayors; I've got a problem that I could use the community's help with. So here's the problem:

My city of Shannon's Cove (named for the most beautiful girl in the world) was built on a strong farming backbone. But as schools were put in and water was supplied, my sims learned and were not interested in agricultural jobs, but industrial manufacturing and commercial service and office.

Now my farms are coming on hard times as people go to the manufacturing and service sectors. So, my question, how do I re-invigorate my farming community? I've already took a few steps, such as replacing my mega-school with a much smaller one with less range. I'm thinking of also cutting water off as I think that'll might push people back to the farms. Any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks all!

Create a neighboring city with high taxes on agriculture, and then raise taxes higher in your current city for industries and businesses not agriculture. That should help alot, along with lowering agriculture taxes. Make sure you don't start loosing money though, that would defeat the purpose
