I've been active here a long time ago, and was an ethousiastic sc4 gamer, left the forum, rls. And now I'm "back" but on a mac. I still have my pc cd: sc4 deluxe and was wondering if I could get that running on my mac?

If you have an Intel Mac (if you bought your mac recently you probably do) and a copy of Windows XP, then you can run Windows on your Mac through Boot Camp.

Indeed I do, there's no universal binary or something? Don't kill me if that didn't make sense. The thing is, I don't want windows installed.

Welcome back to ST! Long time no see. 4.gif

I do feel your pain about not wanting to install Windows. But I'm afraid it's your only choice for the moment. I reckon that as Intel Macs develop further, they will no longer require installation of Windows to run such programs, but for now that's the way it has to be.

Otherwise, you'll have to purchase the Mac version. I imagine there's a few of them out there on Ebay or something.

There is a universal patch out for the mac version, but it's a beta, and is pretty sketchy right now (lots of random crashes). And the truth is that the game will run a lot better in Windows.

That's a bugger, I think I'll have to scoop up a mac version somewhere, thanks for the help. Zel, nice to see you too!

I was looking for the rush hour expansion on eBay today and I saw this while I was at it.

It's the Mac version of deluxe. I have no idea why I made my first post in the Mac forum when I don't even have a Mac.

Boot Camp works well; however, if you don't have a copy of Windows XP with a serial number that has not been used already then you'll be out a few hundred bucks. I find it's also annoying flipping back and forth between XP and Mac each time you want to play SimCity or use another one of your programs, as you will find that none of your Mac programs will run on Windows.
