City growing problem

Hello to everyone.

I have a problem. I am making city. Now it has 700 000 ppl there. There is one more city in region - its industrial city. But my problem is with huge unemployement and many buildings which looks terrible.

One more thing. Can i get bigger sky scrapers than in my picture? 

I cant get comercial skyscrapers,but can i get bigger residental sky scrapers? 

I use sim city 4 deluxe with no patches or mods.

you have to work for commercial skyscrapers because only so that you can give jobs to your people and if they get it, your buildings will turn to better ones. I think there arent any bigger skyscrapers.

A new mod, known as CAM (Colosus Addon Mod) is being tested by BSC right now. It will add functional skyscrapers above stage 8. In fact to stage 15 for both Com and Res. It also advances to higher levels in both regular Ind and Ag. You can read about the progress of testing at SC4D forums, BSC Creations, CAM development. The release date is not set but expected to be late July. Here is a screen shot of an earlier version test I did.

well, the unemployment can either be caused by not enough suitable jobs or too long of a commute.  high wealth sims are very picky about where they work (only in high wealth commercial and to some extent high tech industry).  so if you don't have enough of those jobs available then that might be the problem.  also, high wealth sims are very short tempered when it comes to long commute times.  you may have some high wealth jobs available, but if they are too far away for your rich sims then they will not want that job.

as for your skyscrapers, the skyscraper in your picture just below the statue of liberty is a an example of a stage 8 high wealth residential (maximum size).

to my knowledge there is no one mod that will give you better skyscrapers.  there's a lot of custom buildings available on the STEX, but as for one mod i don't think there is one.
