It's great to see Lippo finally plopped in Hong Kong in all its realistic glory. I love the fountain at night, so beautiful. Great work HK BAT Team!44.gif

Excellent work as always. The panorama is amazing. One question though, where did you get the seawalls with the walkways? Are they Peg's Plazas?

niiiice this is actually a city i want to do at some point... won't be 100% realistic at all but i would like to get the basic highways and such laid out the same way....

right now im experimenting with a 60% tunneled highway with the only open areas being for the t-intersection (sunken) and a few on ramp access points (again sunken)

*****atoo-210893, very good work on HK! It would be even better if someone could BAT the convention centre, then you wouldn't have to use the Children's museum of Shanghai as a substitute.

Been doing heaps of work arround the Mong Kok area lately, here are some progress shots of the more low-rise (By Hong Kong standards) areas. I'll have an overview shot of the whole area soon showing Mong Kok, Kowloon and all the rest of Central Hong Kong but still not quite there. (First picture is actually in Jordan, That purpleish building in the center is the Majestic Hotel.

Heheh. I am still working on those Mong Kok lowrises (midrises to everyone else), There will be 4 blocks total, with a lot of variety and more colors. Also they will be a little shorter too, 2x8 instead. I need to get some more pencil towers out, my buildings are starting to look too repetitive. 3.gif

    I love coffee and buildings.

@Bixel: Great, I've had so much fun ploping you're MongKok block into my re-creation. (Made Mong Kok a lot more realistic). I'm glad to here that 4 more are coming. 2x8 sounds better too, I had to do a lot of demolition work to fit them in nicely.

Sorry for the lateness of some of these replies (Yea over a month!) Anyway, this lot start on page 4 under the last set of replies and goes on till the comment above at the end. Good luck finding your reply!

    Replies…

    ---PAGE 4---

Jacqulina:  Thanks! I’m glad you like the night shots!

ISD2:  Yea, well the Harbourside is only about 100m from the harbour so it kinda is. Anyway, the website is great, Thanks for commenting!

Cleaner475:  Wow! Thanks, I’m glad you like the night shots.

Ky72x:  Thanks a lot!  I’m glad you like the night shots.

SpecialEddie:  Yea, that website is great, very helpful. Thanks for your comment.

    Patriots_1228:  Haha, thanks, here’s another 60+ more!

SimRabbit:  Hey thanks for your comment! I’m fairly happy with the building placement too although there’s still room for improvement.

    Schulmanator:  Thanks for your comment.

Tankmank:  Yea, I really like Mong Kok to, the place has got a great feel to it. Thanks for your comment!

Lucky7:  Hey, thanks lucky7! I’ve had a lot of feedback about those airport pieces. I’m glad you like my re-creation.

Hijodecordoba:  Thanks again for your nice comments! The parks are actually just a lot of grass at the moment (by Google Earth) and I know you all want to see complete buildings but it’s not realistic without the construction pits. Thanks again.

Hijodecordoba:  Yea, there grow able and on the STEX.

    Jacqulina:  Thanks for your comment!

    Mulefisk:  Wow, thanks!

    ---PAGE 5---

Deever:  Yea, I’m serious about this! I’ve wanted to re-create Hong Kong realistically since the days of Sim City 3000. Thanks for your nice words.

Bixel:  God I can’t wait for Olympian City! I saw it in Simfox’s thread and …wooooooow! For now I’m just using the Metrocity II as a substitute…

Hijodecordoba:  Gosh, I’ve had so much feedback about the airport pieces; I think I’m the first to use them outside of an airport. Thanks for your comment!

    2ch:  Thanks!

GMT:  Wow, thanks. I’m glad you like the power plant.

FissileBread:  Hey thanks! You could probably find some sort of 3D map of Amsterdam if you looked around the web. Thanks for your comment!

Waldner:  Only one word? Thanks for commenting anyway although you shouldn’t make one worded posts. Just lurking is fine if you’ve got nothing to say.

Suplado!:  That’s a power plant not a port and yes, the forest is green.

Homeandaway:  Wow, I’m very glad you like my power plant. Thanks for such a nice comment!

Godzillaman:  Hey thanks! I’m glad you like the detail!

    Tomdapom:  Thanks mate!

Mikeaut1:  Hey! Thanks for the very nice comment. I’m happy that you like my photo editing skills because I work hard on them. Thanks again!

Crazyyaya: Thankyou! I’m glad you think so although there have been one or two that I got inspiration from.

Crazyyaya:  Haha, well I do spend months on them. I’ve been working on Kowloon from about 2 weeks before this CJ started and I’m still going.

Shingure:  Hey, thanks! I’m glad you like the ‘pretty colours’

Siso43:  Thanks for your comment! I like Hong Kong too, the best city ever… maybe…

    Jacqulina:  Thanks again!

Hijodecordoba:  I hope the Photoshoping worked out all right. It was kinda a test to see if I could get rid of the pixelness on zoom 6 but I’m happy with how it turned out.

ODST_27:  Yea, I’d have to say that mosaic is one of my favourites that I’ve ever produced! I’m glad you like my night shots, there a specialty of mine, not too good with some of the day ones though (sometimes).

    Godzillaman:  Thanks again.

Tankmank:  Hey, glad you liked the last few updates! Thankyou, come again.

Jayo:  Wow you think I got it! The real life Hong Kong nightlife is just crazy (yet amazing) I hope my SimCity4 re-creation is close.

Cleaner475:  I love the Hong Kong BAT’s too. Thanks for the nice comment.

Shadow_Assassin:  What’s the point of the rural highways? Just really for something different to add more variety to the road network. Thankyou for telling me about the ‘uni-density’ mod! It helps a lot (You can see it in some of my latest pictures) Thanks for the comment!

    Johan_91:  Thankyou.

Deever:  I’m glad you like the effect! I use what’s called a soft focus effect and if you set to something like ‘soft-glow’ it gets rid of the pileated effect. It’s very useful!

    Waldner:  Thanks.

Woodnava:  Thanks for making you’re first Simtropolis post in my CJ but around here if you’re gonna post say something meaningful and don’t just give me a web address to some site that’s in a language I don’t even speek.

    ---PAGE 6---

NMUSpidey:  Haha, when I first came to ST there were a few pictures that I saw that just drove me crazy and I wanted to make something like that. I’m glad I’m kinda giving some inspiration back now. Thanks so much for your comment; it’s ones like those that keep my goin with this CJ stuff!

Homeandaway:  Maybe… Thanks for the comment!

    Manman99:  Thankyou.

MonkeyMan09:  Thanks, I’m very glad you think so.

Simoplis_mayor:  Hey, thanks for the comment! As you know, I sent the PM ages ago.

Tomdapom:  Thanks man, I’m glad you like the airport! And yes the new Ace Airoprt pack is amazing! Thanks for stopping by!

Hijodecordoba:  What I was born to do?Re-create cities… Maybe…lol. Anyway thanks again for the nice comments.

Bixel:  Thanks, I’m glad you liked them! Thanks for stoping by.

Cleaner475:  You’re airports can look like that, just download the BAT pack! (This was the first one I ever made…2.gif ) Thanks for the comments!

Mike the Mayor:  Hey thanks, I’m glad you liked it!

Collgab:  Hey, thanks for stoping by and for the nice comment.

Deever:  Thanks for the nice comments again! But you should really get this airport pack, it’s just too cool, and they put the plopable pieces in the Airport Menu (Who’da thought…2.gif ) so there’s no congestion there. And as for patience, what you see here I made in under an hour. Problems solved! *Now you run off and download the airport pack*

Jayo:  Thanks for the comment; I’d really like some diagonal runways!

Rct3twins:  Man I’d love to like in Hong Kong for a while… lucky you…

    Waldner:  That doesn’t make sense.

Cowboy[Texas]:  Thanks for you’re nice comment! *Yee hah! (Fires gun into air!)*

Topcliff:  Thanks for commenting but what do you mean by Leonardo?

Penguin007:  Thanks mate! I’m glad you like the airport!

Tankmank:  Hey thanks. I’m really happy with what you can do with the airport pieces, so versatile.

AutoVino:  Thanks for the nice comment. I’m very glad you think so.

Rct3twins:  That’s right, updates. Next time tell me weather you like the updates or not, okay?

Hijodecordoba:  Oh yea, the new Lippo is fantastic! Thanks for the comments as always and I’m really glad you like the panorama pic. I’ve got plans to do a night one when I’ve got a little more work done on the harbour. That should look cool.

Cleaner475:  Thanks man, I get a lot of feedback about my night pictures. Thanks for the comments.

Hanson784:  Yes, great work, I epically like the fountain too! Yep, there peg’s overhanging observation decks (Used by be as a type of seawall). Just search through Pegasus’ gallery on the STEX.

Waldner:  Sorry for picking on you but can you please stop making one or two word comments. Although thanks for saying it’s ‘awesome!’.

Belfastuniguy:  Thanks for stoping by and leaving a comment! I’m glad you liked the panorama.

    Homeandaway:  Haha, thanks Alex.

Capitol1:  It’s just something different. It took a while to grow on me but it’s probably my favourite BAT of all time now.

    ---PAGE 7---

Jack Forge:  Cool, I’d really like to see more people re-create Hong Kong! The highways are really easy to lay out and the rest of the city just works on a grid of roads. Good luck.

Villagemayor:  Thanks for the nice comments! I’d really like someone to BAT the convention centre (Big hint to any good BATers…Paul, Bixel, Simfox?)

Jmdude:  Thanks, I have a habit of using BAT’s for alternative purposes.

    Bixel:  (Already replied)

Amerikaner:  Thanks for taking the time to write such a great comment! I’m amazed and very pleased to here from you that my CJ is one of the best around and that I deserve all these comments. Thanks again, its comments like these that keep me going!

    Rct3twins:  Wow, haha it’s a small world!

Cleaner475:  Thanks for your nice comments.

Ilikehotdogsalot:  No, I don’t get Bixel’s buildings prior to there STEX release. He put in a link to an off site download of this building on his thread to see if anyone could grow it and lazy me, I just plopped it into my cities. Thanks for stoping by and for the comments!

    Jacqulina:  Thanks for the complements!

Homeandaway:  Wow, really you think this CJ is one of the most realistic on ST, thanks!

ThePunisher:  Haha, you’re signature is excellent! Thanks for dropping a comment!

Northsider1983:  Thanks, Acually I thought I hadn’t captured that (Because of my strange lack of cars and people) but thanks for the nice comments!

That’s it folks, hope I didn’t miss anyone and keep those nice comments coming!
