Hi, occasional lurker and long time Sim City fan since I played it in school when I was about five.

While I'm keeping an open mind with SCS, I have being extremely dissapointed with what I have seen and heard so far.

I'm kind of surprised at the direction they're taken, it seems to be in the direction that Simsville was, as a mixture of elements between The Sims and Sim City. And Simsville was canceled, simply because it 'wasn't fun'.

Obviously this game won't be the same as Simsville, but I just don't think it's a great concept. They may say it's the best of both worlds, but IMO - it's the worst of both worlds. You've got less control of the people you control, and less control of the city. I've already got The Sims 2, Sim City 4 and City Life, it seems this game is an extremely underwhelming combinaiton of the three of them.

And as a matter of fact, Simsville impressed me a lot more than this game has so far.

I remember each installment of Sim City I saw - Classic, 2000, 3000 and 4 amazed me, this one simply bores me in all honesty.

Ditto, They're taking the focus off of city control, and putting it into tending to the peoples needs. Not making it a free market anymore, but more of a communist socity

While it does sound a bit like Simsville, I'm still much more interested in playing Simsville than playing SC:S

What??

If anything its more free market than before. You can plop anything you want anywhere.

American kids grow up thinking anything to do with societies means communism. Wow our schools really are failing us.

What does that have to do with communism though?

The Orwellian ones will, but other than that it looks like buildings from any other society incarnation.

I just seen alot of the word commie thrown around when I don't really see precedent for it. Urban Planning deals more with societal issues than it has ever where to lay water pipes or power lines.........
