THE WACKOJAK UPDATE SPECIAL

Alrighty then... what have I come up with in the last hour or so...

Well if Jackowacko wants a house at the top of the crater then we are gonna need a road...  and a bit of a flat space to actually build something... not that it really stops us in NZ.. we will build a house just about anywhere... flat is a relative term, as we have well established at the very beginning.. of this masterful piece of binary brilliance... but I am digressing into painful territory... 

Suprisingly the AVCPS put up very little fight over this latest residential desecratation of their newest igneous member... they were still too busy trying to wipe the lava of their red faces over the east / west tunnel debarcle....

WackoJackonator was very excited about his new residential building lot and quickly drove up the new road to check out the new construction pad...  in the little car that could.

Ground work was well underway for the new residential lot.

A little explosive and the site was nicely prepared.

The road was finished in hardly any time at all..   (actually I had to demolish it an rebuild it a couple of times to get the construction vehicles in the shot but that is another digression... )

Hmmm.... no power .... how to get power up the top of the mountain with out having to build those ugly power pylons...

Vola!  A little instant lawn laid down and the power cables safely tucked underneath.

I hope Jackinthebox likes the skate park...  and hopefully it will hurry along the construction of his house...

And a few trees to soften the edges of the new turf...

Chuck the throttle into Cheetah.... and well whadda ya know ... you can get a builder when ya want one.  Looks like Wacky will have a couple of neighbours.  Well it would be lonely living on ya own...

Before you could say "The Blues thrashes the Crusaders".... the houses are built and ready to move into.  

The skate park is an instant success, Jackowak is now torn between the invigorating fresh air and the wonders of exercise and his PC...

Oh it is perfectly safe.. Auckland's volcanoes are "one shot wonders"  bit like some of the CJs...  (oooooh that was a bit terse... )...

As for me, I can pass on the crater - I'll take a manse in Schulmauckland. It's one of the largest cities in Schul Zealand. Real estate is highly prized in exclusive Schulmauckland... rather.... "preeeeeeecious" indeed. Rent can go for 1 gold ring per month or more! (Do I hear next month's rent calling.... callling.... yes I do.... I'm coming, my precious!)

Edit:  I have just reread my entire journal right from page one...  quite an interesting exercise...  it is really amazing to see where I have come from  to where I am today...  

I would like to thank all my faithful repliers, (and lurkers... yes you know who you are...) who have stuck with me through thick and thin... good times and bad...  in sickness and in health, disaster and calamity, from transition from 24/7 shift worker to Monday to Friday regular shifts....   Simtropolis and Dirk all of which would none of this be possible... those amazing Batters who provide all that cool stuff on the STEX...  my wife (who lets me play SC as long as I clean up the kitchen...) my loving family, my dog, ... and of course the academy (who ever they are...)

UNDER THE HOOD UPDATE

It has been a while since we had a look under the hood of this baby so here we go...  sorry the jpegs are a bit fuzzy... not sure how to fix that...  I used this method to take the photos...

Prt scr/sysrq button>

Windows button + M (to minimise SC4)>

Open Paint> (shortcut on desktop)>

CTRL-V (pastes picture)>

Click File> Save as>

Enter a name for picture>

Drop down menu > file type Jpeg>

Select Folder to save into>

Save >

Close Paint>

Maximise SC4

This method puts all the screen shots into a folder, already made into JPEGS ready to upload to Photobucket.  Saves having to convert the in game camera shots from PNGs to JPEGs which can get pretty tedious.

Positive cashflow.  Healthy Bank Balance.

Even the whiny advisors are happy.

Amazing - even the ultility guy is calm.

Hmmm.... they don't like living next to the Research Centre and the Advanced Reserch Centre....

This block has the Central Police Station, the Jail, the research centre, City College, the Library and the Courthouse.

Zones.

Water... looks like the volcano did not do too much damage to the underground network.

Well water pollution will still be a problem while we still have farms.

Air pollution mainly a problem in the Morningside industrial area, and the CBD.

Traffic congestion reasonably under control, but a bit of a problem in the eastern suburbs.

Traffic volume... as expected the CBD is busy.

Trains could be better utilised.

Good power coverage..  just the park on the summit of Mt Wellington unpowered.

A small pocket of low health in the west but, that is a relatively new suburb. (Excuses...)

Income & Expenses... pretty good.

An aging baby boomer population.

51-60 is the highest age group.

Education pretty much well covered..  except WackoJaks house...

Crime...  What are they up to at the hospitals?

OK not really an update, but it is a while since I posted a region shot...  I plan to build a humungus airport in the south....  on the medium tile...  I have put in the highway access... now I just need to go find a cool airport....  anyone got any good ones?

Jean Batten was the first person to fly from England to New Zealand solo....  the Auckland Airport Main Terminal is named after her and the plane is in the departure hall hanging from the ceiling.
