EDIT:

The story:

The region will be mostly a metropolis and fade off into a subarban thingy.  Not too big of cities, just fading off gently in population density untill we get to farm land in the upper right hand corner of the map.  mabye theres more comming in the future.

Ok I believe just don't keep me hanging for to long - the best start of a CJ though is when there is something there

Nice sunken highways plenty of room for devlopment - you might want to rename this CJ though as My Region is a bit plain and won't attract many viewers - but keep it up - good work

Maxis buildings don't make your CJ diferrent from everyone elses - they don't make it special - If you downloaded lots of new buildings your CJ would be more intresting as theres more to look at and most Maxis buildings are dull. You should really think about getting some. Better name now that previous.

Love the city can;t wait for more.

P.s thanks for commenting on my CJ

Great start! Looks like it could become a big metropolis someday. I also like that you decided to use sunken highways. Very realistic! 4.gif

actually, The city has broken 315,000 sims, but i dont have a pic for that, all of the space is taken up, so expansion is next to impossable, everything is zoned for highdensity, and airport is large, and on second stage. I think its as big as its gonna get.

Wow, that's pretty sweet. How did you get the highway to be black and how do you build sunken highways? I would also like to know where you got those sloped walls from. =)

    asphault highway texture here

    retaining wall here

NAM HERE for PC   (keep in mind, you only need to download for the system you have.)

    NAM here for MAC

    hole digging tools

^you will need all of that, when you get all of that, just use the hole digging tool, for ground highway, found in your misc. transportation folder(in the game), and create a line.  drag your highway over the lots and delete the highway+lots, redrag highway where you would like it, and you have your self a sunken highway.  to put walls on there, simply drag and plop.  you may need to use the home+end keys to switch around wich way the arrow is on the walls.  Your walls will be in your parks folder  (in the game)  the walls i have given you dont have diagonal walls, nore does the digging tool create diagonal. to do that, just create a hole of a good size, and use the flatten tool to create a diagonal sunken highway.

You shouldn't keep replying to ever post someone makes but reply to them all at once like in every other CJ otherwise it just gets annoying - check my Cj's in my sig to se ehow you should do it effectively (It saves tons of time)

    Oh why thank you.

And I who was so proud of myself for having 80,000 in population and a city filled with houses - including skyscrapers... =/

    Just joking, nice!

(On the other hand I did do what mentioned above today.. *brag*)

Edit: I just HAVE to ask, don't look at me as a ***** now! hehe..

What's a "CJ"? You're using these weird shorts and such here, I can't understand half of it!

Okay, I have some tips for you:

    1. Use better quality jpeg images and turn off mission things

    2. Don't let those repetitive Maxis buildings take over you're city, get some custom content and bulldoze those that grow more than once or twice right next to each other.

    3. Use mass-transit instead of lots of roads (too many roads look ugly and mass transit like rail can be a lot more effective)

    4. Put you're airport in an open area instead of right next to you're downtown

    5. Keep going with the sunken hi-way! They are very cool

Looks like you've got some awesome demand so I'll be back to see what you do

wut cawkatoo said is really helpful, you should definetely listen to him.

Its an okay start, not great, but solid. Your Sunken highways are spectacular i love the wall you are using. but as others have said, turn of zots, zones, and toolbars. Limit the repetitivness. Use more custom content. Those seem to be the keys to journaling IMO. Keep up the good start
