Nieuw-Sequovère

Hello everyone!

After the failure of Sequovère, I took my 2nd attempt to a fantasy CJ. With the inspirations of the Maastricht CJ, I decided to start a new historical city: Crucxsabel.
Crucx comes from "kruis", which is dutch for "cross".
Sabel means something like "Sword"

As you can guess it's about a church-cross: there are five major cathedrals, in the form of a cross in the city.
This is going to be ( for now), the only city in the region.
It has the biggest historical centre I've ever made. To be excact: about 45 tiles wide and about 85 tiles long.

Some things I use:
-NAM
-Industry Quadriples
-Peg's ponds
-Trees
-Custom Churches
-Paris growable
-Paris Ploppable
-Dutch growable
-Dutch ploppable
-canals
-polish blocks
and more and more

A picture of my first progress in Crucxsabel, capital of Nieuw-Sequovère.

    Replies and update!

    Hey everyone!

Thank you for your comments,,,that's going to be rewarded with an update. I made a lot of progression these days, but I'm going to show you only the city centre of Crucxsabel, the capital of "Nieuw-Sequovere", a city with many landmarks, canals and situated near the small sequo-river, near the sea.

Btw. before saying "there are palms, that isn't dutch" ; I forgot about the antipalmmod

    But first.....REPLIES!!!!

Imprezza05: Well Imprezza, under the replies,,,you can see ow the city developped!

Tommiej: Hey Tommiej, how's it going? here again a-Dutch type city. I only need the anti-palm mod. I forget about it always. How's your CJ, rotterdam going?

Schulmanator: Thank you, Schulmanator! Take care. I love Schulmanidad!

Jaqculina: thank you Jaqculina. Take care. How's paradise falls 2 going?

    Bat: thank you my friend!

homeandaway: Hey alex, how you're doing? I'm doing well. Take care my friend.

    lucky7: hey lucky,yes I'm dutch (forgot about an antipalm-mod).

Well, they get there by foot,,,,via the cobble stones.

    Take care.

    Update 1: City centre

    allright, let's start off.

I'll start with a city view, and then I'll zoom in.

    viewku0.jpg

    Now,,,the real start!

Domsplein, the city hart, with many expensive houses.

Big shopping streets, as the Grote Straat, Munsterstraat, Grijffelterstraat come together on this square.

    dompleinis1.jpg

Here is the St. Janskwartier, the most expensive area; the house prices are enormous!

    stjansyg8.jpg

Here is Grijffelt, with the Central Library, Onze Lieve Vrouweplein and the Onze Lieve Vrouwe church.

    grijffeltep0.jpg

Here you can see the Walhaven; the Havenerpark, the cathedral and the Havenerplein.

     walhavenlr1.jpg

Here is Munsterwaag; a cathedral, the Munsterkerk (origanilly from Roermond or where? It looks like the one in Roermond), and the munsterpark; a place where a lot of witches got killed.

    munsterwaagnp1.jpg

The Market, with the city hall, me,and a smaller church.

    marktcc2.jpg

The north of the Havenerpark, with some nice buildings.

    havenseparkib0.jpg

and last but not least, the old port, with an old tower.

    That was update one,

    take care,,

i cancelled it... the terraforming was very, very time consuming and i tried one city and i found out that making a port only is a bit boring after a few hours, knowing that you have to build 16 cities more..

but i'm planning a new CJ..(see my sign) won't be dutch.. more british, french (lately there are many british cj's and i'm really inspired by those CJ's, i find the british look very nice)

a tip, demolish the baseball-field, how many baseball field do you see in our little country?? i only know one basebalclub Roof!

the pics look very good, i really like the canals, they are used very creatively, the historical tint is very visible and it does give a dutch/french effect.

    like to see more!

Eliah747: this isn't based on maastricht....that's another Cj of mine. Click in my sig on Mestreech and you will see that! Take care

Tommiej: ooh, too bad, but yeah...a port is quite boring. Well, there are also a lot of soccer fields there so...that one or two fields...Take care

    Tonight update.

    Update 2: the Green City

    Hey everyone!
Thank you all for your great comments!
I'm going to show you some of the city's green areas. This is actually my most "plopped" city...so also a lot of green.
    Let's start right away.

Here's the city's cemetary, den Eeuwigen Jachtvelden
    cemetarydb9.jpg

    The gouvernemental area:
    gouvernementza4.jpg

    The good old city parks:
    munsterparkln8.jpg
    crucxspleinny0.jpg
    walhavenerparkfs6.jpg

Here is heiligenboom: this was a residential area, but due to bad traffic problems, I've decided to go the green way. (because of the traffic i built a small metro and light rail line. Maybe I'm going to make some ground light rail!)
    heiligenboomrc0.jpg

Heiligenboom-zuid; there were some big residental towers, I've demolished them.
    heiligenboomzuidlj3.jpg

and last but not least, the Van Uumpark. named after myself 3.gif

Teaser and start of the story.

all right, as I am bored withthe normal pic-updates, I decided to start a story.

It start's with to sims: Victor and Steve (named after Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey, to great bass players).

In the next update I'm going to show you there house (ooh gosh my memory is so slow), and where they shop work and give gigs etc.

But here's a teaser, of a business area, south of the outer beltway.

I've decided to demolish the light rail and metro, as another commercial ugly area has been replaced by a medium-income residential area.

Walhavenerpoort, business location, south gate to Crucxsabel, directing to the Walhaven-area.
