Nuclear power plant blew up

I recently built a nuc plant and left the game running all day, and it wasn't covered by the fire station range. How many years will it take for the radiation contamination to go a way about?

I don't want to start from scratch on my city, so is there anything I can do?

Thanks simcity

It will never go away. You'll never be able to grow RCI buildings on the radioactive area. However, you can still use it for utilities, schools, hospitals, etc. Yeah, I know it sounds odd to build schools in radioactive wasteland, but the sims don't seem to mind.

Actually, I think it will eventually go away.  However the time period is over 10,000 years.  So, in reality, you will always have radiation in your city.  Kind of sucks, huh?8.gif

The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older.  Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death."

Whoops. This reminds me of something 18.gif

Yeah, the Radiation is there to stay... so you better not have saved it! I don't think its possible for anyone to make a Radiation 'Clean up' Mod...

Is that true?... lol... so I guess if your desperate to keep your city, put on the no electricity demand cheat and no water demand cheat and let it run overnight.

Personally, I stay away from that kind of stuff. I wonder if you could upload some pictures of the disaster? It would be awesome to look at.

Are your sims complaining about the disaster?

6.gif6.gifOh wow I'm glad I didn't save it!!! I was going to if it did go away in like 50 years to be realalistic but never mind, and in SC3 didn't radiation go away in 50 years or something like that, and you had to put the area under water?

    Thanks simcity 19639.gif
