I've been experimenting with green belt citys and this is what i've come up with. There are small areas of RES and COM surround by lakes and parks. This will also show that i don't just build british style citys 17.gif

Good work, but your pictures are too large. Please resize them to 800x600, so they don't get removed.

Not green, brown. But nice work though.

Your city isn't exactly actively green... It just looks like they decided to have forest reserves everywhere. No offense. I've actually never seen a city like this before. It looks pretty nice, other than it has no streets. Keep it up! Looks nice!

Hey, that's a real nice looking city. Great planning, the only thing I could sugest is that you use more streets insted of one way roads and roads but other than that amazing city!

Could I ask what terrain mod you are using? Mine dosen't work so close to sea level!

Fantastic! The city parks department must be rich, though, and I guess the environmental advisor is your friend now. 4.gif

Have the entire area forested. Also, eliminate that brown grass under those trees. Possibly a country club could be added to a new subdivision. To keep the wooded look, plant trees on all the open plots and make sure that houses have enough trees. If you have rush hour, convert that highway to ground.

But country clubs often release obsene amounts of fertilizer into the environment. Which can be bad. And the brown grass gives it that "aged" look that is oh so popular in that particular city (hey, it's constant). Try satellite pics of Greenbelt, MD (ha 3.gif )

OK, nix the country club then. I'm just saying that you're going to need some kind of recreation around there if you want non-hippies to move in.

to me a green city isnt just a bundle of trees and less zoning, its the buldings you build, how you use your energy, what type of energy you use, an abundance of recreation areas, etc. But what i just said can fall under energy efficiency also. In perspective to me, this looks more like the poconos in Pennsylvania, rather than a green city.

well on the SC4 official site there are a couple of weird cities like this. not at all as good. They are pretty much just massive forested areas with a few skyscrapers around them
