Lights don't work on downloaded lots

I downloaded my first ten or so landmarks and a few comercial buildings, but none of the lights are working when i put them in my test city. I've only downloaded stuff with no dependencies. Everything else seems to work, for instance the library i got was being used and everything else looked fine. All of the items i got said in the description that they had lights. I also let them sit and run for quite a few Sun cycles. Is there anything I can do?

Check your version number in the executable.  If it is not 1.1.640.0 you are missing the patches necessary for night lights.

You do have Rush Hour/Deluxe don't you?  Most stuff on the STEX requires the full game.

My version number I believe is 1.2.0.112

I do have the Rush Hour/Deluxe.

The problem is I can't get the patch because when I try and register my game I get an error saying invalid number or already in use. I've tried what I've learned in other threads here, doing registration step one at install and contacting the tech support which is no longer available either through the links I've found here or at simcity.com

Is there any other way to get this patch?

Alas, no.  This is one of the ways EA keeps control of the game.
