Virus on my mac

I am not sure, but I dont want a risk. I went to a website that was... lets say not official, And there is no suspishous stuff going on with my computer, but again i dont want to risk it. What is a good virus remover that is trustful and free? I know, its not about the game, but its about a mac. I think ill get more help here.

Well, there is a free version of AVG available from www.grisoft.com but that's the only free stuff that I know that's worth considering, and I'm not sure that it works on Macs unless you're running Windows on it.

EDIT: And I'm not entirely sure that running a scan through Windows would find problems in the Mac OS files.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. As you probably know, Macs don't get viruses (and as such, I don't think there are any virus removers for Macs). Since nothing suspicious is happing your computer, I wouldn't sweat it.

It's not that Macs don't get viruses it's that there are, currently, no known viruses for OS X in the wild. There are a couple of trojans but they all require entering your admin password to work and the most they can do is trash your home folder.

There is AV software for Mac such as Norton and ClamX but right now they just take up CPU cycles and do nothing but filter the occasional Windows virus out of email.
