Issues with RCI and Bats

Guys I posted this over in the GD section but think this is far more fitting here:

I don't know what I'm doing wrong guys but I have just set up my roads in my region. I love to plan my cities out that way. I have only put highways, and avenues in, just as guides. So now I come to zoning it, and creating my city and yet the demand of everything is down before I have laid down a single zone. All that are in high demand are the high wealth buildings, but they don't start up a city, it's the low wealth ones that do. I can only ever get my city up to 1000k before it platues, and even that is a real struggle. I try putting all the growth things like parks, etc but none are working. I have DL a lot  of bats to my game so are there any patches or add ons that I hay not have DL that will help with this problem?

I love this gam and have really gotten into it but I really want to get past this hurdle, it's annoying. I start my city once I have zoned some land and the RCI indicator has all of the zoning under the bar. Please help.

So do I need to Dl anything else? I have been patient and nothing is happening is my cities.

And feel free to delete the other thread in the other forum.

    No hahaha. It's running at full speed and very little is growing. It's as though it doesn't like me having set out my highways already. Does anyone know of a case where they have laid down the major roads for the region with the zones then not growing? AS I said, as soon as I start, the RCI demands are all low, rock bottom.

    actually my names Patriots_1228, thats just somthing thats under my name cuz it was related to my old avatar. you should find radical ordiances and superdemand mods in the mods and downloads section, and theres also somthing that enables you to get skyscrapers quicker on the STEX, i think its called cap releif mod, try searching cap

    Often, I will import the industrial park into a region. The advantage is all utilities are covered and there are 500,000 jobs just waiting for your sims to move right on in. You will have 50,000 peeps within the first year and when the city hits 100,000 peeps, you will have 4,000,000 bucks in the bank. Some will consider this cheating. It's just the way the game was built. If you don't have a city to feed off of, the best bet would be to start a new neighboring city and plop a couple of manufacturing plants and provide about 30,000 jobs. If you take the feeding approach, remember to NOT OPEN the city until demand for such large amount of industry ACTUALLY gets fullfiled. Otherwise, the industry will start to abandon out and you will be toast!
