Hello. I've been playing Sim City 4 for about two weeks now and was looking to ad some variety to the game. What plug-ins/mods/whatever would you recommend to get started? Any advice you could offer would be appreciated.

I recommend you start real slow, Pegasus, Simgoober, are good ones. There are so many good custom lots, etc. you can get carried away. Later on, the Network Addon Mod [NAM] is one that I think is essential..

It's all a matter of taste what plugins (custom lots) to use, so the best you can do is go through the immense STEX (Simtropolis Exchange) You'll be busy there for a couple of days.......but watch out, don't get lost in there, we won't be able to retrieve you after.....lol

One general *musthave* mod I highly recommend is the NAM, Network Addon Mod, as tungston above recommended also. It adds a lot of variety to the transportation menu. Then another mod I love is the Cycledog's terrain mod which changes dramatically the looks of the forests, land and mountains. Add a nice water mod and you can customize youself one heck of a nice game to enjoy for months to come.

Have fun now and welcome to Simtropolis.

If you have only been playing for two weeks, you haven't had time to even scratch the surface.  However, the NAM will make life better for you (RH/Deluxe required).

Have a little care with the NAM as part of it is beta, and can crash you to the desktop.  Read the documentation very carefully, and when using puzzle pieces, save frequently.

You could go to STEX and just browse the most popular and top rated before you delve into the vast catacombs of downloads that are available.
