Since I've been getting into Batting a bit more lately, i thought i would open myself a BAT thread here at Simtropolis, so as to get some more feedback before i release anything

any of you who are regular visitors to ST chat may have seen these already 3.gif

I have been messing around with the BAT for a while now and this, i would say is the best result so far:

juryj56.jpg

I would love some criticism and advice on this BAT, so i can try and make it fit for release.

Another project i am working on is a rail bridge, this is what i have so far:

Again, advice is greatly appreciated.

But we want more Starbucks with nuclear power! Well..I think these are fine..

Not fine, excellent!

You should add trash bins to the platform? I don't see any.

Looking good so far. But look at your stairs. They're huge.

For the bridge, try to see if you can model more of the details on it. Using textures too much will make it look flat. If you can't find places to add detail, make something up. 4.gif

Looks great. I think it needs a bit of colour, though. Also, I'd move the seating back to the centre of the platform - there's waaaay too little clearance there.

It's looking pretty good so far.

I suggest making a custom texture for the roof (after you finish the rest of the building).

And I recommend being just a little bit more careful about the proportions (the door way looks too big, and the detailing on top of it looks too small, for example).

Also, I can't tell if it's your render or your texture, but I can see .jpg compression artifacts on the brick texture.

Thanks for the feedback Jason. The birk texture its self is the culprit, i will sort it out later, i have gotten on with a little more modeling first.

About the door, The door is pretty big in real life, but maybe i did make it a bit too big. just try comparing it with the real life picture I added.

Got my hands on 3dsMax 8, and begun working on a BAT based on Battersea Power station.

Here is what i have so far:

    Textures are far from final.
