Well, I know it sounds strange, but I've enclosed a picture and a full system diag file to help illustrate the situation - I've tried everything I can think of, but i can't make this glitch of a plane dissapear.  I noticed that I could not call the plane to any more fires after it had been built for a while, and upon further investigation, I found that the plane had somehow lodged itself in the ground.  I've tried, bulldozing, rezoning, landscaping, resetting, rebuilding the landing strip, all to no avail.

I'm using SC4 Deluxe, and I've downloaded the update from the simcity website.

Hi there!!! Only hting I can think of is maybe you have a F.D. landing strip plugin that may conflict with the original maxis one. It is a strange occurance though I will admit. Does this issue cause any problems with game-play?? If not, why not build an airport around the area with wich said plane is located?

Another thing that may have happenned... maybe you deleted the fire service airport while the plane was in flight... iono.

But if its not causing issues with play, just build around it to accomodate it. I know its not a solution to the problem, but it beats starting over I guess.

(edit) Did you try to draw a road over the plane? try drawing all types of transport over it, that may work.

I tried building road/rail over it. It builds, but it does not make the plane go away. The reason that I'm concerned is I do believe it's affecting gameplay - I don't think the commercial zone I've placed beneath it has developed past a low-density building. I'm rather new to this game and the whole plugin stuff - is there a way I can manually unload and reload the plugin to make the plane disappear?

Sorry man, Im stumped. If it was in fact a plug-in you downloaded, and your FOR SURE that you destroyed the building, you might want to try and remove the plug-in from your folder and all related files for the plug-in, then reload the city and see what happens... But this is risky I think, it may or may not let you load the city with the plug-in removed if there is in fact still information with in the city for the plug-in.

    Good luck!

Another bit of advice I can give ye, is to ORGANIZE your folder in such a way that YOU KNOW where and WHAT everything is. There is a program out the called "Doublekiller" Wich erases any duplicate files. You get duplicate files from installing certain Plug-ins from certain creators. All the info you need is contained with-in the forums, but these forums are a vast wealth of knowledge difficult to sift through. If you have any other queries about how to hook up your plug-ins folder, feel free to PM me, I'll be more than happy to help ya out if ya dont wanna sift through all the info.... I know I aint to fond of siftin'.

If you did a UDI mission with the plane, you failed to land it.  Try another mission.

Sorry Imotepp, I think I'm leading you down the wrong path - let me explain.  In your first post, you mentioned that the problem might be due to a bad plugin I downloaded to replace the 'original'.  I have not downloaded any plugins - my game is 'stock', I guess that's how I'd put it - I assumed by the way you worded the reply that there are original plugins that I can access.  That's what I meant when I asked, "is there a way I can manually unload and reload the plugin to make the plane disappear?"

I assumed that there are original plugins that I can manage - if this actually is the case, it would be very helpful to be pointed in the right direction.  Thank you already for all your help!

    I'm sorry I was misleading - I hate being a ***** at this game... 4.gif

N_O_Body - I've tried doing missions, but because I've deleted and rebuilt said strip, all my new missions start with a new plane, and leave this problem plane sitting right where it is.  15.gif

I just can't seem to figure it out.

Huh. Once I got a fighter stuck in the ground, and it disappeared when I rebuilt Area 5.1. Well, have you tried to just bury it?

That's next on my list of fixes to try.  I dunno if I'll be able to cope with a buried plane underneath a burgeoning commercial complex.  Sounds like a murder-mystery.  4.gif
