Well, as soon as I hit around I dunno 650k population, everytime  zoned for my R$$-$$$ people I got the "no car" zot I think is what yall call me.  If I re-zone that area...some of it will go away and some will stay but eventually it goes away.  I think it may be hindering my pop growth some how cuz suddently everything has come to a halt.  No having this problem with my commerical areas just my ressies.   Yall got any ideas how whats goin on?? Even some areas with develope a medium or high wealth building and then bam outta no where...I get the no car zot.  Heres a pic 4.gif  Thanks for the help yall!  Sry the pic is such low quality..I cant figure out how to get them more clear 15.gif

P.S.  100k magically turned into 750k 4.gif  Also, for a city this big...is 50 or below commute time good? Or should it be lower you think?

I don't know what causes this bug. The no road connection zot will sometimes also appear above buildings that are clearly facing the road (usually happens when a lower density building upgrades to one that is higher in density, methinks).

Just give those zones with the zots around a month or so. After which, the zots will disappear and new development will start. Just ignore it, in simple terms.

Oh and for your commute time query, 50 mins is pretty good for a city that size.

Hey, BigBear!

Deever basically has you covered on what to do about those "No Road" zots.  I have a problem with those, as well.  It's just a problem that plagues you more the bigger your cities get, so at 750K, that'll probably be a norm from now on (nice job getting that high, though! 44.gif).  You might have to wait longer for them to go away, as well, but they will eventually.

As for your picture...it's just like that because it's larger than it originally was.  This is how big it should be (575 x 460):

How is it that your demand is so high at such a large population? Are you using any mods? I have a city that is getting towards 700k, but I have to work hard to get even a little bit of demand.

Sometimes in large cities you can reduce the no road zots by starting your zone at the road and working away.If your unlucky enough for the zones to develop while the No road zot is this often turns into a no job zot then abondoment , sometimes in my biggest cities i must wait until 2nd time around to get the zone to develop without problems.I have a theory about demand, you can have lots of regional demand , but low demand in a particular city, this is usually due to traffic problems . Ive learned that demand is transfared city to city by connections(everyone knows this)but i found that if a city has traffic problems the demand will be greatly reduced to that city, so you can a cbd with say 500k jobs in a city, city A . City b has a good transport network with no major problems , City C has a bad network with red patches on the transport network. City b would grow more and recieve a much larger propotion of demand from city A then city C.

Im telling you this because although i see your using Nam , the 3 square road connections to your avenues are realy bad and will at some point hinder the growth of your city.

Deever - Thanks man, I'll just leave them alone from now on and just let it pass by hehe.  I seem to have hit a cap though. I am almost 800k but man the sims just arent comming in like they used to haha.  Also my Commute Time droped from 50 to 45 last night.  Kinda going back and forth right now.

masochist - Ya I am pretty stoked I got a city this high, although I used mods I am still happy.  I got to bout 300k without them hehe.  And as for pic size..I want a larger pics 800x600 jsut with the same quality with the smaller size lol.

jijibecali - Well I cant seme to take it off of bold so your get lucky.  Yes I use 3 mods, NAM, An mod that gives 4 times the amount of jobs for my Industrial sections, and a mod that gives extreme amounts of demend for my Commeical and Industry sectors.  Boys do they help to!

Gridlock - Great read man, lots of good info.  I started this city without a single city next to it. Then I realized I can't do that lol.  Well...not if I want a big city anyways.  I will post a traffic map asap and in some areas it is bad but its mostly ok through out the city.  The main problems is the area I first zoned when I started the city...which in fact is next door to my second largest city.  Can you think of any posible ways to reduce the traffic between the cities.  I have a dam good bus system and both have subways...I figured that would help alot to...in terms of between city travel.  Also...what is a CBD??

    Thanks for the response yall!

is that a CBD a ploppable thing or is it grown like everything else is?? Cuz I relly aint got a CBD lol...everything is mixed between Res and Com

Well here are 2 pics, one of commute time and the other of traffic.  As you can see the top right hand corner is pretty badddd.  I jsut cant seem to get it green. Subways, Car Pools, Buses, nothing seemed to help. Although through the city the CT went down from almost 80 to CLOSE to 40 at one point.  JUST by adding the subway system.  I was shocked lol.
