Nice! I noticed that one pic was a little bright...lol, supernova. But I kind of liked it. The pic after that was my favorite though, love how you showed the reconstruction of the highway. And the newspaper is so funny! Does that seriously say "how the fire was squished"?? Hahaha!! Great update, beebeth

    Iiit's (finally) update time!

    gone.jpg

The cleanup of the southside is nearly complete.. all that's left are two buildings, which I'll be showing you next update. Both will be prominently placed in an expanded park along the river valley. Much will be changing on the south side! But you'll just have to wait and see! 9.gif

    newbaseball.jpg

Since the old Arbordale Stadium was destroyed in the blaze, the team plans to construct a new, larger facility on the spot of the old one. This is the current plan pitched to the city (worry not.. it will be completely privately funded. 2.gif ). Design plans could change.

    rippingroads.jpg

And, just for the heck of it (and because an update just wouldn't be an update without a 'just for the heck of it' shot), here's a shot of some of the major deconstruction that was going on. Like I said earlier, it's nearly complete.. all that's left is dirt, dirt, dirt and a few scattered buildings. 3.gif

    That's all for now, folks!

    comments.jpg

Micah: Of course! 3.gif Shannon is one of the numerous invented Capilano Valleyianites. 3.gif

Deever: Hehe. 3.gif Alberta is an oil rich province. They have money to blow. 2.gif

Mikeaut1: Yeah.. and I can't wait either! 2.gif Thanks for the comment, mikey!

sEAhAwk fAn121: Hehe 3.gif Maybe I should clarify that those flight costs are from Calgary International Airport...

    daniel01: Thank you! I appreciate it! 9.gif

hamsterTK: It was a '95 Dodge Neon. I have a lovely Pontiac Pursuit now! Yay!

flame1396: I think they're just glad to have something over their heads right now. 3.gif

Krio: Perhaps.. I just find the RHW too finicky to use though. Maybe if I ever take the time to perfect it.

    Schulmanator: Thank you!

    jacqulina: The rebuild's a-comin! 9.gif Glad you're enjoying it!

BlondeTwiggy: Hehe. 3.gif Glad you liked it, I hated it lol. And yes, it does.. Ralphy's a character. 3.gif Thanks!

    Hi, Beebs,

    Nice dirt.

Sounds like no one was killed in the fire, or injured?  Hopefully no one was "squished" along with the fire.  I have been within 10 miles of a 11,500 acre forest fire in 2002.  An entire town of around 2000 was evacuated and covered with pink fire retardant foam.  The flames destroyed a few structures on the edge of town.  The whole town would have gone up if the wind hadn't shifted at this point.  No one was killed, and there were minor cases of smoke inhalation, etc, but the evacuation was quite chaotic with families separated for a while, etc.  It was very smokey and unpleasant.  Cleanup took several months, and the greatest danger was mudslides from the slopes unanchored with foliage.

Have you made a lot of custom lots to show this disaster and reconstruction, or mainly found what you needed already done?

    Bye for now.

That's wonderful, the rebuilding process is really quick.

So......... From the look of construction site, it seems that you will plan to build another downtown area, won't you??

    Great job, keeping on!! 4.gif

    Iiiit's update time! 9.gif

    demo.jpg

Alrighty... here's one of the mostly burnt buildings that's being left. The crane is simply removing rubble... the whole area will become parkland, and the roads are being removed as you can see. As for the second building I promised, I'll have to break that... it couldn't be prepared in time. 15.gif I'll show you once it's ready though! You won't be disappointed. 4.gif

    dev1.jpg

Trying to move things along a bit, this used to be the slum housing. Half of the streets have been adapted into alleyways, and the lots extended (half of the housing was demolished as well.)

    dev2.jpg

The next few shots are just more of that.

    dev3.jpg

    And more.

    dev4.jpg

    And a zoomy-out shot.

    newtree.jpg

Now, Twiggy. I promised you new treelets a long while ago. I forgot. Then I remembered. Now I post for you. Go me!

Lets just move onto the Comments section, shall we?

    comments.jpg

Cjah: Thank you! There should be construction shots scattered about the updates for a while yet. 2.gif

    Cheese89: Thanks! 3.gif

sEAhAwk fAn121: Thank yas! Glad you likes!

Deever: Hehe. 3.gif Sorry I couldn't put one in this time. 15.gif

    Frankie_Grove: Thanks! 9.gif

daniel01: Thank you! Glad you're liking it!

    homeandaway: Thanks! 4.gif

cleaner475: Won't be until the weekend, unfortunately... no time to make it before then. 15.gif

hunkske: We'll see how the region develops 3.gif

Livin in Sim: No reported deaths, no. And yikes! That must have been scary for you. 34.gif Glad everyone got out ok where you were. All the lots i've been using are on the STEX. I can't make custom content worth crap. 3.gif

    jacqulina: Thanks!

    Mikeaut1: Thankyas 3.gif

Horace Speed: Yep! And nope! That's de-construction not construction. 3.gif

Metropolis: Probably you'll see that next update... no promises though!
