Welcome to...

MainIntro.jpg

Statistics:

Terrain: ocean/plains, northern mountains

Climate: warm and moist, cooler in the mountains

Highest point: unknown

Lowest point: Brunswick Sound

Economy: Banking, fishing, construction, aircraft, large industry

Recreation: watersports, pro sport teams, hiking, other athletics, theme parks

Discovered in: 2050

What is Cheaumont? Simply a small colony of Verisymmetria...or it was...

Verisymmetria is the story of 2 rival republics. Verisymmetria and Cheaumont.

Introducing...my second cj! Crossrivers was OK, but a bit too much grainy, boring, urban density. In this cj I will strive for more realism and variety, along with some new mod and techniques.

Mods used: Radicalordinance (raphaelninja) Oceanriver (mayorbean) Soilmod (Equinox)

Maps used: Mackenzie Bay and Banks Peninsula by Flamesrock

There are many kinds of cjs. There are real-world recreations (Edmonton, Seoul, London, Our Mini Earth) and realistic fantasy (Nemonos, Schulmania) along with futuristic fantasy (Zabitake, Myon, Nexis of Genesis, Battlefront Zanapolis) to name a few. This cj may have all of the genres or none of them, or even a bit of my own IDS2 genre. You probably all know what that one means...

I had other projects planned...Hastings and Northfield, Minnesota, maybe Red Wing. Those are still in place.

Also, this is just my opinion, but I believe putting captions over the update ruins the effect. So, in this cj, there will be none, and if there is any, it'll be kept to a minimum.

So without further ado, here is the story of Verisymmetria.

Table of contents: (to come later-reserved space)

And now, for the beginning of the story.

It was a warm day in spring. Queebly resident Creamte Python, who had been living in the city of Inizia, was rafting with his son George down the Richmond River. Currently the Richmond River is the largest river known to man. Stretching 35,000 miles, the river is so large that it would take 9 years to travel the length on a high-speed boat, such as a ferry, which is why ferries are only used locally.

Creamte was talking to his son about his former mayoral position in Birchview, Queebly's largest city. George listened intently. In the back of his mind, he thought: "You know, it would be great if there was a large city right here...a shopping center there...a forest there..." He discussed his thoughts with his dad, Creamte. Creamte chuckled a bit, but soon his quizzical expression bent into a large grin. He knew that an area's population had to be over 100 sims to become an incorporated city. But he thought about how many friends hated their neighborhoods,a nd all the construction workers he knew...OK, this is starting to sound like a fairy tale.

But it was possible. "With a terrain like this, anything is possible", both Pythons thought to themselves. (No, they're sims, not snakes.)

VSMUD1OV.jpg

As you can see, one of the several mouths of the Richmond Rivers is located here. Let's get started!

The mouth is very rough. This may be hard for boats to pass.

Brunswick-Jul.jpg

Let's look at some of the wildlife...

The Pythons' boats were beached as they set afoot.

Brunswick-Jul-1.jpg

Rocks of all colors and sizes lurk near trees of several different varieties:

Brunswick-Sep.jpg

The Pythons gathered everyone in their family and chopped down several logs, providing them with wood to build underground homes, protecting them from the elements.

Over time, the area had come to be known as Brunswick.

Current year: 2055

Hope you enjoy and stay tuned! Please leave a comment and get this project started!9.gif

Oooo, nice looking start. Wow that region is big! Is your city on another planet? Cause that'd be cool. I like your use of nature there. If you're going to be doing more of those plopped river thingermajigs. You should check out Three Rivers Region over on Sc4 devotion. He does tonnes of that stuff and its really cool. I think he's done a few tutorials on it as well.

Looking forward to more!

Wow! Success already! Here's another update...

    Replies:

Thanks! I try to start off as well as I can.

    Satan666x666.GIF

    112233:

Hurrah! Plenty of it today! It's working out rather well so far. 9.gif

    sora1.jpg

    zelgadis:

Hehe, good, you trust me. Lol. And yeah, about the name, you're the first one to figure it out! Hehehe.

    Jamie%20being%20Giligone_mini.JPG

    Giligone:

It is! And lol, the ploppable water is a lifesaver. And I'll look into that, sounds good, I'm only starting this plopped water thing, not very good at it yet lol. 3.gif

    raccoon.jpgkula%2080x80.jpg

    MsCharmut1969:

Wow, thanks! The storyline kind of holds the journal together, works rather well. I'll try to incorporate it whenever I can.

    childrenofbodom1.jpg

    Cjah:

Yes, I sure do! lol, they save me from using the default trees for yet another reason. The houses have enough of them as it is...lol.

    minigiko.jpg

    2ch.net simplayer:

Muahaha, long, but yes, another planet. Thanks!

Ok then, today I'm going to start off with some geography. As many have already figured out, the river gives away the fact that yes, this is another planet. Millions of miles away from our local group. The river, though 35,000 miles long on the planet, is affected due to the lopsided shape of the planet, making for less gravity in some areas. The river splits and is tugged into space, therefore there is a branch that connects the planet to our planet Earth.

    BrunswickUD.jpg

(sorry, I had to put in the banner 3.gif)

Now for Brunswick. We see here that they have been doing some yardwork:

    Brunswick-Nov-8.jpg

    Brunswick-Nov-9.jpg

But something wasn't quite right. Overnight something seemed to be different.

    Brunswick-Nov-6.jpg

When out for his morning walk, Creamte found this puddle of gooey muck and found himself stuck. He called for George, but soon after found that he was stepping on him.

    "Gerorge, where are you?"

    "Mff...down...here..."

    "Oops."

"I'll say! What do we do now?"

"I guess we wait for it to rain."

Which wasn't that long of a wait. The rain caused an offside rainwater drift, setting them free, but increasing the area of the goo.

    Brunswick-Nov-7.jpg

    Brunswick-Nov-10.jpg

    Brunswick-Nov-11.jpg

Now we move east to check out the development along the mouth.

    Brunswick-Mar.jpg

That tall building may look silly now...

    Brunswick-Aug-4.jpg

    Brunswick-Aug-3.jpg

Soon, the other side of the canal began to grow...

    Brunswick-Feb.jpg

And soon after that, the sims built downward...

    Brunswick-Nov-5.jpg

Some taller offices began to go up...

    Brunswick-Sep-1.jpg

And soon it was a race.

    Brunswick-Oct-4.jpg

And so ends update 2 of Brunswick. Hope you enjoy!

    Verisymmetria-1175704242.jpg

As always, please leave a comment and have fun!

Time for update 3! The city is getting really big! 4.gif

    Replies:

    Jamie%20being%20Giligone_mini.JPG

    Giligone:

It sure is! Quite the vital port city. Thanks! It wasn't all that fun, but worth it. 3.gif

    Horse3285.gif

    jacqulina:

Hehe thanks! In this cj I'll try to have lots and lots of rural farms with plenty of animals of course. 9.gif Thanks!

    childrenofbodom1.jpg

    Cjah:

Oh yes, plenty of them, 'm currently a couple updates ahead and I know what it looks like! Lol, that is a good idea, I always forget...oh well, looks OK anyway. I do have a bit of my own style, you're right.

    Jamie%20being%20Giligone_mini.JPG

    Giligone:

Aack! You noticed! Well, gotta post it somewhere...or not at all lol, so long as they're still my teams. And yes, the results are coming from another galaxy, but the year is 2070 by now and telecommunications are at a very high standard.

OK then. I'm pleased to announce the third update!

    BrunswickUD.jpg

Curresnt status (in case you missed something):

zone expansion, density upgrades, building races

    And now for the update.

I believe we left of with some taller buildings. Well then. 10 years makes one heck of a difference!

    Brunswick-Feb-3.jpg

population shown: Look at all the rewards!

    Brunswick-Mar-1.jpg

Newest skyscraper: (Intraco Banking Company, 37 floors)

    Brunswick-May.jpg

    Some towers grown:

    Brunswick-Oct-5.jpg

    Brunswick-Nov-17.jpg

    Temporary hospitals built:

    Brunswick-Nov-18.jpg

    University of Brunswick:

    Brunswick-Nov-14.jpg

    This island's gotta go!

    Brunswick-Nov-13.jpg

    So does this one...

    Brunswick-Nov-12.jpg

The new tallest building going up: the race is on fire!

    Brunswick-Dec-1.jpg

A ferry port is added with several surrounding plazas: (my favorite part of the city so far 5.gif)

    Brunswick-Feb-2.jpg

    Another bridge is added:

    Brunswick-Nov-15.jpg

    Ready for more embankments!

    Brunswick-Nov-16.jpg

    How are we doin'?

    Brunswick-Dec.jpg

100,000 sims! Not bad at all! 9.gif

Soon the first areas of the city became to be known as Uptown and a new area was developed; this area was called Ballard Park.

    Brunswick-Apr.jpg

    Brunswick-Sep-2.jpg

Soon there was a new sim on the block: Oasis Bistro and Company HQ, 89 stories. Silly for just over 100,000, but necessary.

    Brunswick-Feb-1.jpg

Enjoy the pictures! Please comment! And remember to get some fresh air! 10.gif

For some reason I like your CJ, because of the seawalls and grids. But but. I assume all skyscrapers are grown? Too many same towers looks little funny, so replace them with other towers. It won't hurt anybody.

Yup, update 4! Time for the overzealous plopping stage! Commonly found in IDS2 species.

    Replies begin:
    Jamie%20being%20Giligone_mini.JPG

    Giligone:

I agree! Thanks, and yes, that's what update 5 will be all about. Hehehe..

    avatar_ani_098.gif

    Krio:

Really? Thanks! It's just my style. And yes, so far they're all grown, but in this update they get plopped in order to, like you said, reduce repeated buildings.

    Horse3285.gif

    jacky:

Me too and thank you I'm looking forward to making the rural, it's always fun, just need some more variation of farms and then it's good.

    Santorini%20Avatar.jpg

    Voulpiotis:

Guess why I put that picture in there? Here is the link: clicky

I sure have! And it's very fun as well!

    Replies end

    Update 4!

In this update we will see more recreation and development.

Creamte was out driving George to the local ice cream parlor, you know, the one across from the university? Well, since he's been there, a 50-story tower was added on top!

    Brunswick-Apr-1.jpg

An electronics retailer decided to build up HQ near the university to attract the college kids to get them to but all the newest supplies. (guess which building that is!)

    Brunswick-Feb-8.jpg

    Hard to miss, eh?

Some Asian buildings were built in north downtown...

    Brunswick-Apr-3.jpg

    Brunswick-Apr-2.jpg

See the bottom of the picture? Bwahahaha.

Oh jeez, why keep you waiting any longer? My new pride, Ballard Park.

    Brunswick-Apr-4.jpg

Complete with condos, hotels and bike paths to the back doorstep of every one of them!

Another menu shot...with the impending demand, just for you Voulp!

    Brunswick-Dec-4.jpg

200,000 sims! We need more than that! **installs sim cloning devices**

Now for the pet peeve of the day: Repeating buildings. Well let's just take care of that, shall we?

    Brunswick-Feb-4.jpg

    BOOM!!!

    Brunswick-Feb-7.jpg

    BIGGER BOOM!!!

    Brunswick-Feb-9.jpg

    Brunswick-Feb-10.jpg

**gleam gleam** Not so shiny, but better than it was!

    Brunswick-May-2.jpg

Still some of that darn Simon and Frank Associates...well, I'll tend to them today I guess.

    More of Ballard Park:

    Brunswick-Jul-2.jpg

If you look very carefully, you can see a guy floating away on his deck chair with gas balloons tied to it! (trying to recreate Larry Walters and his floating chair of doom)

    And...yeah, Ballard Park again.

    Brunswick-Jul-3.jpg

Don't worry about the dezoned areas...it's only zoneria mode. 3.gif

    Now for downtown buildup!

    Brunswick-Feb-11.jpg

    Brunswick-Mar-5.jpg

    Brunswick-Mar-4.jpg

And for the other side, something had to be done to match:

    Brunswick-Mar-3.jpg

Good enough for now anyway...I'll fix it up a bit later.

And, finally, it had to go:

    Brunswick-Jul-4.jpg

    Brunswick-Jul-5.jpg

sorry, BankOne, but I don't like your HQ building. And I showed you that, didn't I?

    Brunswick-Jul-6.jpg

Kudos to anyone who gives me an idea of what to build here!!!!!

    Region shot:

    VSMUD4OV.jpg

Yah, methinks it need some low density, eh? Sprawl is our friend.

OK then, I hope you enjoy the update, and I may have a mosaic in store for you guys! Have fun! 9.gif

    Update 4 3/4!

    BrunswickUD.jpg

We start out today with a nice pcture of the new bridge connecting uptown to West Ballard Park on Werth Avenue.

    Brunswick-Jan.jpg

Some pictures of downtown: (no, they're not the same picture)

    Brunswick-Jun-2.jpg

    Brunswick-Nov-20.jpg

    Trying to grow medium density:

    Brunswick-Nov-19.jpg

    Brunswick-Oct-6.jpg

300,000 sims! Huzzah! And the meter is being shown, Voulp! Still outstanding!

Here we see some more medium/low density being started:

    Brunswick-Oct-8.jpg

    Brunswick-Oct-9.jpg

Here we see a new hotel going up:

    Brunswick-Sep-3.jpg

And, finally, the new park expansion, Eden Conservatory.

    Brunswick-Oct-7.jpg

Hmm, we need a new region shot.
