    jacky:

Thanks, and yeah, a lot of time taken to just get that part done, and thanks, also a bit tricky as it was my first, thanks and I'll have a special update dedicated to the horses in the future! 9.gif

    Schul:

While I was on vacation making updates you were back at home reading the updates! Lol. 9.gif

    crazyyaya:

Do you mean the water mod? Or the map? Anyway thanks for visiting! 9.gif

I leave you guys today with a teaser:

VSMTeaser1.jpgAs you can see the high density is tapering off and Brunswick is complete. All that space to the left, I know,  it's a lame excuse but it's a wildlife reserve. The final population of Brunswick topped out at 434,000 before the thing crashed. It's fine though. Everything still exists. Enjoy!

    OMG, great developement!

One question (as usual): In our mosaic, at the top I want that brown, VERY tall building, next to "The Tower".

Well, another teaser for you: the name of the city to the north is Elmview, with a nice downtown of its own, some medium and low density with a British accent, plenty of lofts and seawalls. Population 74,000.

    VSMTeaser2.jpg

The city freezes on me  lot, so it's taking a while to build the city. Anyway, expect a nice update and possibly a mosaic in the near future, as tomorrow is friday! Huzzah! 9.gif Enjoy the picture!

    Replies begin:

    Santorini%20Avatar.jpg

    Voulpiotis:

Hehe, thanks, oh, that building? Berkner Bank by Eburress, found here.

    blackie%20(80%20x%2071).jpg

    homeandaway:

Thank you! Just wait until you see Elmview.

    Jamie%20being%20Giligone_mini.JPG

    Giligone:

Aha! Thanks, at least they're getting better, they're fun too. And yeah, familiar? hehe.

    Santorini%20Avatar.jpg

    Voulpiotis:

    Well then here it is!

    blackie%20(80%20x%2071).jpg

    homeandaway:

Thanks! Yes, it kind of blends well. Lots of different styles.

    Horse3285.gif

    jacky:

Thank you very much, it seems that will come rather soon, most likely to the north will be lots and lots of rural areas.

    Update 5: Elmview.

    ElmviewUD.jpg

    In this update:

    -more mosaics

    -new water mod

    Well then let's see it!

Ah, Brunswick, though it was beautiful it was time to find somewhere else to live, preferably cleaner with cheaper housing. So no sooner had I wanted more development than a new large city spung up to the north. The name? Elmview, population was already 216,000. Finally, a bit less crowded perhaps?

    top1.jpg

    middle1.jpg

    bottom1.jpg

Hmm, pretty close. Not bad for a second try!

Now, after seeing the beautiful panoramas and mosaics in the Brunswick Herald, I was determined. What a marvelous place! But I must introduce myself. George Python, pleased to meet you.

    Elmview-Nov.jpg

A bit dilapadated in some areas, but hey, it happens in every city.

    Elmview-Nov-1.jpg

    Elmview-Nov-2.jpg

    Elmview-Nov-3.jpg

    Elmview-Nov-4.jpg

So I took another mosaic. This one turned out well:

    Enjoy!!! 9.gif

    Let there be replies!

    Red-Baron-Pic.gif

    Amerikaner:

Thank you! Just wait till you see these!

    Picture1.jpg

    Mike the Mayor:

Gee, thanks! I'm glad you like it!

    s8r1.gif

    Schulmanator:

I'm glad you approve! I was wondering what that United Rentals truck was doing out on my street corner...

    blackie%20(80%20x%2071).jpg

    homeandaway:

Hehe, thanks, and yeah, it kind of blends in! And I have even more of it...take care.

    Horse3285.gif

    jacky:

Of course, I'll start that stuff pronto. I'll just stake out an area, thanks again, they're getting fun to make!

And so, the replies stopped and looked up.

Now for more of Elmview and a new town: Florawell Beach!

    FlorawellBeachUD.jpg

So, this is the first city to not use seawalls. I also hand-modified the terrain quite a bit. Ready?

Hey there, Jim Creed here. Former mayor of Brunswick. Right after Creamte Python. In fact, he's mayor again now. Well, after staking out Elmview a bit, I headed south across the bay, to a new development. Touristy, that's all I can say.

    VSMUD6TM.jpg

    VSMUD6OV.jpg

I walked into a library down the road a ways and found some statistics: (the tall brown building)

    FlorawellBeach-Apr.png

    VSMUD6CS.jpg

    VSMUD6RS.jpg

So, tell me people, who the heck is this IDS2 guy?

    That would be me, bub.

    Oops. Sorry.

I thought so. I thought you practiced your lines longer than that!

That was odd. Anyway, I looked at the inlet, saw a snorkel rental shack, rented a snorkel and took a swim. What a beautiful reef!

    top-3.jpg

    botttom.jpg

Of course, I was right downtown on what they called "Florakiki Beach." (go to Honolulu to find out what that means)

    top-2.jpg

    bottom-2.jpg

    Egad! Darkness fell fast!

    top-1.jpg

    middle.jpg

    bottom-1.jpg

    top-5.jpg

    bottom-4.jpg

Finally, from a cigar boat I got this picture:

    top-4.jpg

    middle1-2.jpg

    middle2-1.jpg

    middle3.jpg

    bottom-3.jpg

    Jim Creed says goodnight!

Enjoy the update everybody and please leave a comment! 9.gif

Not bad so far. I like the skyscrapers your using. How is traffic in your city? Are you going to have some rural and farm areas, or is it just going to be one giant city?

Time for a long list of replies, just what I like actually.

    s8r1.gif

    Schulmanator:

    Thanks! Those are my favorite.

    blackie%20(80%20x%2071).jpg

    homeandaway:

Hehe, TH-AN-KS! I'm glad it turned out well, you truly are an expert. Thanks again.

    Horse3285.gif

    jacqulina:

Thank you, and yes it was fun to do that part, expect something special regarding the horses coming soon!

    Jamie%20being%20Giligone_mini.JPG

    Giligone:

I sure have! It's like a new addiction. I can't stop making them! Lol.

    Santorini%20Avatar.jpg

    Vopulpiotis:

Ah, thanks, and aobut the industrial: I don't know why I never place much, you're right that is is unreal, but I usually save it for one big smoggy area. I don't quite know completely though.

    blackie%20(80%20x%2071).jpg

    homeandaway:

Thanks, I try to make it enough to handle, but not too much to take at once. Though my cities aren't to that point of jaw-drops yet. I hope to gain that though.

    crest1xxxf1.jpg

    belfastuniguy;

Thank you, glad you could pay a visit, it's pretty fun to build the region so far!

    cash2.JPG

    SamTheMan:

Hehe, thanks, the traffic is surprisingly even, not too thick and not quite bare. It really depends on the area. And yes, I'll have rural, I just haven't got to the suburbs yet, the inner-city is going up as of now.

    images19.jpg

    sc4portugal:

    Thanks! I appreciate that.

    Horse3285.gif

    jacky:

Thank you, I'll try to have a differnet one for every city if I can.

    Playpunkchli.jpg

    Simcity Freak:

You have a point. But my point is the city isn't the whole cj. It's the suburbs and the sprawl and the rural as well.

    blackie%20(80%20x%2071).jpg

    homeandaway:

Thanks Alex, I really appreciate all your help, especially the water mod, I like it so far especially in this next city...

Haha! I like doing replies. Now time for update 7 or so, Cedarville.

Aieee! The pics in this update are kind of grainy. You have been warned. Enjoy it anyway and i will try to fix this problem.

    CedarvilleUD.jpg

This update will be more unbiased, meaning I won't put in much commentary. I'll let you decide what the pictures mean. So I'll sttart with the stats:

    VSMUD7CS.jpg

    VSMUD7RS.jpg

    And now for the gallery:

    Cedarville-Nov.jpg

    Cedarville-Oct.jpg

    Cedarville-Oct-1.jpg

I really like this picture of the rail tunnels...can you see them?

    Cedarville-Oct-2.jpg

    Cedarville-Oct-3.jpg

    Cedarville-Oct-4.jpg

    Cedarville-Oct-5.jpg

    Cedarville-Oct-6.jpg

    A couple of region views:

    VSMUD7OV.jpg

    VSMUD7TM.jpg

So, basically, Cedarville is a suburb, a bit compact and tight but the close homes next to the botiques and other businesses are very typical of some inner Minneapolis/ ST. Paul suburbs. I hope you agree and enjoy the update! 9.gif
