Nightlightning custom BATs... What am I missing?

I have downloaded many custom BATs from some sites, and now that my cities have been blessed with their first skyscrapers, I'm not able to appreciate their lights at night...

I think I have to download some kind of mod or patch or something in order to actually "see the light", but I'd appreciate your help here. I'm new to this site, but I'm amazed. I've already downloaded a lot of incredible stuff from these fantastic artists you have here.

Hello, It's me again... I followed all the steps listed in the tutorial, and I managed to download the updates and the tools, but when I tried to patch my game (which is NOT original) the patching showed some error messages, and couldn't patch the file SimCity_1.dat. It said something about the correct file missing, but found another file with the same name. The general result was an unsuccesfully patching of the game, and no nightlighting for my custom bats. If someone knows any way to force the game to nightlight these custom bats, or to successfully patch the game, please let me know. If this message is not very clear, tell me and I will try to reformulate the problem of the patching.

can some one tell me how to be product registered and where is the serial number located?

sandokan: You need to have SC4 in its default location to get build 640, nightlighting for custom BATs. I had to move from an external HD to the C:/Program Files/Maxis/SimCity 4 Deluxe location (default) to get it to work right.

email: The serial number is on the SC4 jewel case. You register it at simcity.ea.com. Then, you can get build 631 and 640 (in that order, as 631 is vital). The retail version comes with build 630.

I had the exact same problem. It was because I applied the patches in the wrong order. I restored the original file from my CD, then re-ran the patches in the correct order. The patches didn't report any errors that time.

The correct order for the patches is listed in the Omnibus tutorial on night lighting for BATs.

Hi... well i have a problem i update to the v. 1.1.640.0 the build 4 see the lights and then when i tried to run the game ask me for the cd and i dont have it... i need a crack 4 that build i search but i cant find... can someone help me please?
