Bayside Harbor - Old Turquesa County

After most of the land had been claimed and farms well established, the continued increase in population forced residents to farm the sea.

Small fishing villages began sprouting up all along Turquesa Bay's coastline including Bayside.  The main employer for the town of 1200 is

shown here - the Turquesa Bay Seafood Co. has nearly 400 residents currently, but an encroaching Wal-Mart hopes to change that soon.

People and Cargo - Old Turquesa County

The best way to get around in the city is by the bus, subway or light-rail.  Here in the country though, the rails dominate the moving trade.

Both Cargo and Sims use the rails to get where they need to go.  The freight station seen here is used by the entire county, while the

small passenger station is used mostly by residents of Bayside to connect with Old Turquesa and Turquesa Beach.

Grand Opening Sale - Old Turquesa County

Almost every small town has had to endure all the debate and politics involved with the first Wal-Mart, and Bayside is no different.

For months now, protesters have petitioned the government, held rallies, and gone as far as handcuffing themselves to Wal-Mart's

construction equipment.  In just a matter of weeks, the wait will be over and Wal-Mart will open its doors.  Look at all that asphalt.

Country Crossroads - Old Turquesa County

Some say, "Life is easier out here," and with a slow pace and close friends, it's difficult to disagree.  After a while, you

can't even hear the trains.  You can usually find pick-up games at the soccer field, just remember to bring your game.

Civil Services - Old Turquesa County

Usually, we take water for granted - turn on a faucet, and there it is.  Thankfully, we don't have to

think about it, because the fine people at Turquesa Civil Services take care of that for us.  Next

time you're drinking that tall cool glass of water, take a moment to appreciate how easy it is.

Life on the Farm - Old Turquesa County

With the farmers' strike ongoing and no end in sight, we can't help but recall the communities roots.  Old Turquesa

began as a farming village with about ten tracts and one road.   My how times have changed.   Farming is still a top

priority for Old Turquesa, as well as surrounding communities who rely on Old Turquesa's exports.  Apples all year.

The Secret Garden - Old Turquesa County

Hidden amongst the trees and rocks on a small island in Stark's Pond lies this recently de-classified farm where legal

marijuana is grown.  This photo was taken about three weeks before harvest.  A typical harvest here will yield between

40 and 50 kilos.  Notice the distinct discoloration between our fields and the plants around them.  "Hippies will ruin us!"
